No, it is also fake (ie no warp leads to it).
This can be determined quite easy. I ran the PW Rom through so called RT (room transfer) dos based program by XaserLe, which brings all data to the end of the Rom. Then I scrolled to Header data (ie all transit is in there as well), made a search for bytes 94 00 = (room) 148 in dec. No result, until the Layer/object code. So no special transit (staircase, warp or other) ever leads to room 148. Tracing the object code, it is also possible to terminate that warp object if you don't like it in the room.

but you can not jump up the ledge, you need to walk on the wall from the previous room to get up the ledge, otherwise Link will jump to bg2, which will render him invisible and unable to ever reach objects on bg1.

The code I used was a bit more simple than that. I found it by using steps and ledge in the cave by the church where you find the lamp (I also used that chest to help with opening this chest, this cave is a cheaters best friend).

All I had to do was activate the 'level0' cheat and it puts me under the map, I then walk under the desired location and activate the 'level1' cheat and it puts me on top of what ever I am under. Great for the exploring under the interior maps because you can use it to go back up to the floor if you get stuck

I never used those cheats, but they are beneficial. What you consider level 1 and 2 are actually bg layers and Alttp is capable of putting the main sprite to 2 bg(s) indoors. So what this cheat does, is that it manipulates the Ram, which tracks whether the person is on bg1 or bg2.

So basically this whole room is only to f*** your head up.
Pretty much so. Or somekind of leftover of an idea, which was never realized. Its all psychology: look, there is a chest. But I can not get it. But when you get it - nothing inside. I then used the same idea in GoW hack, however I made the chest accesible with the message "permanently locked chest", which still bothers the minds of a lot of players today.

Yeah I learned about that back in the days of the old exploration glitch in LTTP. The names of the cheats were just so I remember, "level0" confuses the game and "level1" is actually level2. It will always put you above whatever you are under, so Unless you need to pop up under a bridge without appearing on top, there is no use for level1 because level 2 does the same thing.

Shit even I'm confused by what I just said Confused

there is no use for level1 because level 2 does the same thing
Yet you need both to be able to make bridges possible. Alttp was revolutionary in that regard for its time with those 2 layers.

Have you are ever been to romhacking communities. No one can link you to a Rom (doing so will result in warnings or possible ban). No one can give you the Rom of any kind, either original or hacked (otherwise the site can be closed down). You need to learn the patching process and download the original Alttp your self and do the patching (which will change your original rom into a hacked rom).


Patches are, however, free to download. So if you want to play hacks, just download patches, then (correctly!) patch the game, and then play.

AFAIK (but somebody can correct me if I'm wrong), destination warp tiles are purely aesthetic, no functionality.  Warp tiles just send you to another room, at your current coordinates. So, nothing to reverse-engineer other than to brute-force look for other rooms with warp tiles and see if any of them are located at the same coordinates (which, as was previously mentioned, there aren't).

Yes, you are correct. The destination warp tile is just a trivial object. Only if the hack author is "polite" to his audience, will he put such a tile as a warp destination for every existing warp (pretty much acurate for the original Alttp). This can also simply act as a reminder to hack authors that where warps lead to. For instance in the IQ hack I used such objects to calculate where you land after jumping over a new-jump element (for instance). I later removed some, but some still remained.

Yes, don't forget, the GoW IPS needs the EU rom with no-header, which is not so easy to get. Only Rom I had back then. (While the PW needs the US with header, that's what Euclid had when he made the patch). Parallel Remodel needs US no-header (rolemodel). So be sure to check the CRC-32 info before patching.

which has 4 major Alttp hacks (patches) all compatible with US non-headered rom, and is using the advanced autopatching which also needs a specific rom name. Then you just double click the autopatches and it patches automatically. IPS patching needs Lunar IPS though.

I would do the same if I was creating levels

So what happens if you go in the door? I'm guessing it'll lead you to the Chris Houlihan room right? If you left it unlinked to a interior location?

1.) Hackpack has 4 Xdelta patches all compatible with US non-headered rom (which is usually what you get when downloading Alttp).
2.) GoW IPS patch (not in the pack) is compatible with EU non-headered rom.
3.) Parallel Worlds IPS (not in the pack) is compatible with US headered rom.

This basically means nothing is compatible with what you used for Parallel Worlds, since it uses a non-conventional headered rom.

We later agreed that the default should be US non headered, so all future hacks should be compatible to it, however IPS for PW and GoW are old, so is PD's quest.
The hackpack also has a lovable ReamMe, which will explain in detail what you need and what to do to patch correctly.

I suggest you take what you had for PW, copy paste it and remove the header. Now you have US, with and without header. Get the EU rom (usually with no header). Add header with hex or Tush utility. Now you have all 4 roms (US header, US no header, EU no header, EU header). Now you can patch all Alttp hacks.


So what happens if you go in the door? I'm guessing it'll lead you to the Chris Houlihan room right? If you left it unlinked to a interior location?
If you go in the door with no entrance-definition, you will be stopped. So the tile will function as a solid tile (same as a wall).

That door and this one both go to the Chris Houlihan room, which is what I was talking about above.  I went ahead and fixed that entrance so you spawn as if walking through the door instead of the LoZ3 default that spawns you in the middle of the room as if you fell through a hole, but otherwise left it.
