We chose the palace guard since it blocks ways. Changing him is just a two byte change:
116408: 3F -> new sprite
1164B8: 3F -> new sprite

Change 3F (palace guard) into the sprite you want to be warped away, list by MoN:

Code:
$0E20[0x10] - (Sprite)
    The type of the sprite. The following is a list of all the sprite types
    available. For sprite overlords, see $0B00[0x08]

    0x00 = Raven
    0x01 = Vulture
    0x02 = Flying Stalfos Head
    0x03 = Unused (Don't use it, the sprite's ASM pointer is invalid. It will certainly crash the game.)
    0x04 = Good Switch being pulled
    0x05 = Some other sort of switch being pulled, but from above?
    0x06 = Bad Switch
    0x07 = switch again (facing up)

yes, but strangely when I set it to winders, other enemies got warped as well. I guess this is my closest request for killing beamos. I like this new weapon idea. it would be nice to see these new concepts to inspire Nintendo in making a remastered version of this game.

A better question to ask ourselves is what happens if we warp a boss? Razz

Does it "defeats him"? LOL

Sounds like those things that get left in games that were intended for play testers.

I warped ganon and it counts as a death. I guess enemies ejected is the same effect like in final fantasy when you bounce them out of battle.

I was thinking that giving it an mp cost would balance it then again it only works on one enemy. still it makes the book useful out of its normal get 2 medallions and open desert palace.

This post is confusing. I guess you mean the warp away is ok, but if you walk down the unblocked part in native Zelda it crashes, as these areas are not edited in the beginning part. You surely get the mudora somewhere later in the game where you already are in a further part and there the guards might be of use to block.

I just glanced at the code above. Looks like it is sprite specific. Maybe your ROM is bugged or even the mod has ill effects under certain conditions. Could also have something to do with whatever your method of testing is.

hm, there's a problem with my code, I didn't restore the x and y register... this may cause your bugs. I will release a new version later.

Edit:
bszelda server currently down, I will update the file as soon I get access. Until then here's the fixed patch. Try whether it works better (3F is restored, you need to reedit it).

Edit 2:
First byte change should be at 11640a:3f now
