Just showing this off a little bit, mods if its not the right spot on this forums move it please.
I'm still working with the music off and on so it'll be a few more weeks.

I hope nintendo doesn't find this and slam me for using metroid samus returns song I borrowed. Razz

Hmm I thought about that, do you have any suggestions though ?
I really would like to keep the metroid prime 2 escape theme.
I think it suits super metroid in alot of ways.
I also like the fusion intro, king meteor that.
I had edited some to make it feel more zero mission like.

If you have some an idea hit me up with one or two.

I finally managed to finish this up, I know some of you all will want changes and adjustments.
What will not change is the escape theme, nor intro theme, nor the title theme.
Unless of course it is bit too loud or has too much treble and bass.
I would have used metroid samus return intro theme...
However Nintendo Inc would sniff it out on my videos and flag me for copyright infringement. =/

Everything is included besides the patched rom there is an ips patch. Suspect
Read the read me it "should" explain everything.

I never played Super Metroid, and though reading your post multiple times, I do not really know what you did...

- what did you change in the code?
- you introduced a new pcm set:

- Then in your files the empty super-metroid-msu.msu file is missing. Please add it to your patch package.

Just got back home from work.
I used begrimed msu-1 pack for the code base.
What I did is include a different pcm sound track list I did over the past 6 months.
I got his msu-1 from emuparadise in october of last year
I don't know where you saw super-metroid-msu.msu but do not include that.
Please take down that adfly link, it is full of ad-malware spam from god knows where.
I'll look over the zip file packs but everything should be included.
It works fine for bsnes v.087 any other emulator I am not too sure of.

I put it into a code tag, thanks for pointing this.

I also checked the patch you've given and it wasn't altered (it's that from DS).

I added your pcm set to

(below audio packs).

Your patch package isn't needed to add there, since the code didn't change. If you want me to add the readme, let me know.

Yes, you didn't add that and without it, the msu isn't enabled in emus. Therefore I asked to add it, but since the patch doesn't differ your patch package isn't needed anyways, people can use that from DS.

Oh I saw that you named your pcm differently, so they are not compatible with DS original patch and files.

They need to be named to
supermetroid_msu1-x.pcm
and not like you did to
super-metroid-msu-x.pcm

to have full compatibility.
Yould be awesome if you could do that so we are at one standard Wink

Alright its done for now, I did what you asked me to.
I updated the readme to fix some errors on my part.
I will fix the chozo item room pcm sooon.
It doesn't suit it well currently and I meant to replace it.
Life and Job happens first.

Alright its done for now, I did what you asked me to.
Unfortunately that was not was I asked... I asked to rename the files in the pcm set, not the patch files!

They need to be named to
supermetroid_msu1-x.pcm
and not like you did to
super-metroid-msu-x.pcm

Your patch package isn't needed AT ALL (except the readme infos maybe)! The ips doesn't differ, the xml doesn't differ. DS patch is also more complete since it has the empty msu file (supermetroid_msu1.msu)


As you see there are lots of audio packs in the 1st comments, I also added yours there. But as long as your PCM:s aren't named according to Darkshock's patch
super-metroid-msu-x.pcm -> supermetroid_msu1-x.pcm
they can't be used with it (neither with your new patch) Sad

I think there is a bit misunderstanding how to enable msu stuff:
You definitely need a empty msu file named the same way as your pcm:
e.g.: your pcm are named:
super-metroid-msu-x.pcm, then you need a super-metroid-msu.msu
supermetroid_msu1-x.pcm, then you need a supermetroid_msu1.msu
(check your msu folder, you definitely have the file there)!

both aren't present in your patch file.

I still recommend DS naming system (supermetroid_msu1-x.pcm), alternatively I can add your old patch to your package, but with that empty msu file.

I did exactly what you wanted me to do, renaming them didn't take very long in windows explorer.
*supermetroid_msu-7.pcm*
I hosted the same zip file with the changed contents.
I did not include the other zip pack with the pcm's because its too big to host on normal sites.
The ips name file is changed, check the read me I included it has mostly everything including this url.

If you can do a blank pcm please do so for me.
I wanted to give other people a different pcm sound track to listen to.
That orchestrated pcm sound track really didn't sit well with me.
Thats why I did this its not perfect, but its good enough to stroll around zebes and tearing up things.

So that should restablish things to get the ball rolling.

Led only to the patch file.

That was the problem - the readme inside above updated patch file still only has the link to the old pcm files.

So I had no access to the new link until you posted it now

it's easy to make that msu file, just make a new empty textfile and rename that to supermetroid_msu.msu that's it Wink
