Procedural Zelda
Was looking into the feasibility of procedural generated content for Zelda 3, but instead I've found unrelated non-romhacking materials!
This one is an open source project build on the solarus engine which tries to mimic the zelda 3 engine. Interesting concepts nonetheless.
Also an interesting paper to read about it:

That one is an amazing looking indie game to say the least. Very Zelda like with a sci-fi twist even!

I think I saw something like this before its the team french or something. The engine was from scratch I believe.
