The game crashes right at the intro. Can't play it. Sad
Neither the IPS nor the BPS patch work even when patched successfully. Using snes9x 1.55.

Did you use the patch on a non-header ROM? Is the ROM the US version of SimCity?

Like said. Snes9x 1.55. Which is the latest release.

Again, was the patch done on a non-header ROM? Did you get the US version of SimCity?

I know, right. I'm checking the IPS/BPS files just in case.

No, both patch files are good. Just tested them on Snes9x (no crashing at title screen - was able to go into practice game w/o issue). Maybe wrong unpatched ROM file?

IceMan, can you redownload the patch files and re-test please?

Pitstone, Shiryu, did any of you have any issue with the game?

I tested right now, works flawless, great job Pev Very Happy

No idea why people have issues right now, or what they possibly could do wrong... unless another snes9x version was released or they play with an outdated version, or anything alike? I recommend testing bsnes.

I don't know what the problem is either, Conn. I just had to make sure that the patch files were good to help narrow down the problem.

I have to see what Pitstone and Shiryu's responses will be...

Conn wrote:...I recommend testing bsnes.

I use Bsnes+ v073+3a with the debugger on it, when I code (easier to use than Geiger). I just like that with Bsnes, I can have MSU enabled to test my code. In the past with Geiger, I had to switch between this and Snes9x to test MSU code. I now use Geiger as a last resort. If everything works on the Bsnes I use, it normally translates well to other emulators.

I prefer Bsnes more anyway (Snes9x has too many audio cracking issues on my rig; does not happen with Bsnes+). The only thing I do not like about Bsnes is making the XML file all the time.

I have my tricks with Geiger, like making a breakpoint read $2002 and then edit registers and set the zero flag at the cmp 53 branch.

But I meant rather that ice man should test bsnes (and not snes 9x 1.55) whether it crashes there as well, to exclude emulator flaw.

Nothing wrong with Geiger (I do miss how it shows you the address $00/0000 and how it breaks down the instructions into their assembly equivalents). Bsnes does not do that.

But, to each their own. I just like coding and testing in one place. Just my preference. It is too bad Geiger is not being updated any more.

Yes, the ROM was Sim City (USA) from No-Intro. No header either. I used beat to apply the bps patch. Patching was successful but yet crashes in Snes9x. But I found the problem. Apparantly the game only crashes when there's no MSU file in the same folder. Still weird but it works now.

Yep, I see it. Missed a simple RTS, I'm surprised it worked without it. It's fixed, at V1.1 now.

I applied the patch and put the PCM's and other required files in a folder with the patched room renamed correctly and the music wont play. It just reverts back to the SNES soundtrack not the remastered tracks. I have many other MSU enhanced games that work fine so I know how they are supposed to be set up anyway. I just don't get why i cant the music to play. Everything is set up right. I tried different roms as well. nothing works.

Emulator (if so, which one?) or SD2SNES?

It works as expected for me on my SD2SNES.

I know you're saying everything is named correctly, but double check (scity-msu1 and scity-msu1-*.pcm), and make sure you're patching an unheadered ROM (usually that just causes crashes if you don't).

I had Kurrono test it on his Sd2Snes too and it worked fine. Then again, he is running an older firmware.

Out of curiosity, what firmware versions are you both running? And is your firmware the one with the audio boost fix? The PCMs are leveled for emulator play.
