Msu-1 to fix broken mario hacks? Empty Msu-1 to fix broken mario hacks?

Over the years Ive seen alot of awesome mario hacks that cant be played over physical snes due to music and sound effects that crash the game. Could we simply msu them into being playable? You CAN get around those crash areas by using save states on FX pro, but its so much work for each area to the point its unfun to play.

If you are willing to help make the pcm music sets there might be a hacker that would help you with a few (but we really do not have many active hackers any more so there is a good chance that no one will be up for the request). I think there is a few that know msu-1 in the smw central forum, you may find some luck making the request there.

if it doesn't work on real hardware chances are that it's majorly old (written for zsnes, which is a pretty hacky emulator by today's standards)

probably the most you could quickly and easily do would be to restore the old audio code + data back into the modified rom (copy PRG rom $070000- 0770ef)  from an unmodified rom back over top of the hack's data.

i could make you an ips file to apply to see if this approach might work, but i'm not really interested enough in this to put much more effort in than that.

Here you go, this will revert all audio code in mario world hack to the default SPC700 code.
This should revert all music and sfx back to the default ones found in super mario world.

It was close to working! It worked until it hit the main menu

Im trying this on "panic in the mushroom kingdom 2" if that helps

then there's something else happening to crash the game, it is likely not just the audio code causing errors.
