Overworld Bush/Rock/etc Drop Rate

Hello,

I know there is a seperate "bush prize pack" for the LW and DW for bushes/rocks/etc which don't have something predetermined underneath them (like a bomb, heart, faerie etc). To clarify what I mean I think the LW one is:

1 rupee, 1 rupee, 1 rupee, guard, 1 rupee, 1 rupee, 1 rupee, landmine

I believe there's a 50% chance an empty bush will drop one of the above prizes and if it does then it cycles to the next item in the prize pack. Exactly how the various enemy prize packs work. Then for the bushes which do have predetermined prizes under them (faerie, heart, bomb etc) I also believe the drop rate is 50%.

My question is: does anyone know how to change the drop rate from 50% to, for example, 100%?

Ah yes I happened upon this just recently by coincident (probably looking for the same reason you are actually). The byte at $0D7BE3 ($01) is what you'd need to change. If I understand it correctly changing it to $00 would guarantee a drop and higher numbers should decrease the chance. This would be the same location on a US or JP version ROM. This affects assigned drops but I'm not sure if it affects prize packs as well, as they have a few special rules.

there are two 50% coinflips, which gives empty bushes/grass a 25% overall probability.

the one specific to empty bushes/grass is at 1A/FBDE, and superskuj already covered it.

the other one also includes assigned bushes, grass, rocks, and rock piles (and signs, if you put something there), and is at 06/8268.  so you'd edit CPU address 06/826D.

I've been playing with these bytes but can't seem to get the drop rate up to 100% as I'm hoping to. They seem to be either unaffected or now >50% but <100%.

The hex edits I've made are:

'Unassigned bushes': $0D7BE3 ($01 --> $00)
'Assigned bushes': $06826D ($02 --> $00)

For both bytes I have changed the values to $00.

Can anyone help me with my ignorance? :-)

the one i gave was a "CPU Address".  convert to and from file addresses with Lunar Address:
