Genesis Plus GX

Genesis Plus GX
Git version: Eke-Eke fork 32a2edb
https://github.com/ekeeke/Genesis-Plus-GX
Compiles for win32 and win64:
https://mega.nz/folder/rgEVzAZK#uo-JSeS_abL94eE9xaNc6w
win32 is untested, I don't use 32-bit Retroarch.
For this (win32) I used my old XP compatible GCC 7.2 compiler so it should run on Windows XP and up.
For win64, latest GCC 10.2 from MSYS2 repo is used.
Cores on the official Retroarch buildbot (different fork) lacks proper MSU-MD support.

I will start to make looped versions (10 minutes) of the music packs (at least one per game).
But it will be for emulators only because in some games the size will exceed the maximum size of a cd.

Until a new audio pack is out, switch track 26 and 28.
The wrong music is played in the cutscenes where Mickey enters the doors inside the castle after stage 1 till the end.
Music in the Rainbow Bridge cutscene needs to be a bit shorter because it's cut off.
There are cracks in the audio tracks when there's not at least a tiny bit of silence at the beginning of the track. This needs to be fixed for music in stages 2-3, 3-2, 3-3.
Expect an updated soundpack shortly.
WAV file for music in the library stage sounds funny due to the frequency not being 44.1KHz.
Mizrabel's "NOOOOO!" needs a volume boost because she's barely hearable.
Staffroll music would benefit from a slight fade-in.

New SoundPack and version 1.0 of the patch released:

Thank you for your continued support of the emulator. It'd be great to have it working in the future.

Re: Genesis Plus GX
Just Wondering, is this an emulator that functions like the newest version of snesx9? in that it allows you to play ordinary genesis roms and msu1 like genesis roms?
If so is it possible to update fusion with that feature?

Re: Genesis Plus GX
Since Fusion loses DMA functionality as soon as CD support kicks in I switched to GenesisPlusGX and it's working pretty good actually!
Chiki Chiki Boys has a strange issue though, the movement is kinda choppy once you stop moving in the game.
Thanks for your continued support!!!

Is it possible to provide a download link for the emulator?
I'd like to try it out

Re: Genesis Plus GX
See the link in the first post.
Download, unzip, extract to your retroarch-install /cores folder.
Then load Core or Content from the menu.

If that was aimed at me, don't, I'm just compiling the source which is as easy as it gets.
Eke-Eke is the one that should be thanked.

Re: Genesis Plus GX
It seems, when a rom uses SRAM, GenesisPlusGX will not work when MSU-MD is present :-(
I'll file an issue report in their github..
edit:
It kinda works with the latest version, but a few minor issues which I'm not sure about if it's only on my side or with the emulator.
Also, if you get funny video hickups, disable runahead!!

Does it already work on emulators? Retroarch Windows could not get it to work

Re: Genesis Plus GX
You need to use the core from the link above.
It'll work just fine.

Re: Genesis Plus GX
Which version did you try, 32 or 64 bit ?
64 bit version works perfectly fine, here's Art of Fighting with latest core

(Never mind my crappy gameplay, fighters isn't my cup of tea)

Yes, I managed to make it work, but I had to add some files in the system folder of bios.
Can you tell me if it works on the raspberry?

Re: Genesis Plus GX
Yeah, CD bios is required.
About Raspberry, not unless there's an updated core with MSU-MD compatibility.
You could try latest one from the buildbot
https://buildbot.libretro.com/nightly/linux/armhf/latest/
If that don't work, you have to do a compile of Eke-Eke's source in Raspbian or whatever distro for RPi and replace the .so file manually in cores folder.

I see libretro fork finally has caught up with the changes needed for MSU-MD.
