Link's Awakening DX (Super Game Boy)
Two years in the making, I have finally completed fixing all known issues, and am happy to publicly release v1.1 of Link's Awakening DX MSU-1!
This ROM hack adds MSU-1 audio support to Link's Awakening DX. MSU-1 support for Game Boy games requires the use of the Super Game Boy, so a fully compatible Super Game Boy emulator or flash cart must be used. This hack also adds in several new tracks and alternate versions of tracks from the Nintendo Switch port of the game.

NOTE: The color dungeon is not compatible with the Super GameBoy, so it has been disabled, as well as removing the book in the library that tells you how to access it. This is not a bug. I have an idea to possibly add the color dungeon back in a future release, but it will only work on an actual GBC or GBC emulator, the color dungeon is fundamentally incompatible with the SGB, so it won't be possible to play the color dungeon with MSU-1 support.

Link's Awakening DX (Super Game Boy) :: Comments
If that's the only mistake I make in publishing this release, I'm good with that
Just moved it to news because I didn't really know where else to put it since there isn't a section for LA, but anyways congrats on the release. Looks pretty cool
Finally this gem is finished, this is epic! Thank you so much qwerty
I moved it here to Zelda, where it belongs to

Appreciate the effort but it isn't working on my MiSTer, not the MSU1 part anyway. It just gets loaded as a regular SGB rom.
All files are in a folder and the gbc and msu files are both named "Link's Awakening DX MSU1". What am I missing?

Super Game Boy 2.sfc is in the root of my \Games\SGB folder already. You're saying I need to copy it inside the Link's Awakening folder and rename it to "Link's Awakening DX MSU1.sfc"?
The MiSTer updater script auto-installed the SGB bioses. It works fine for SNES games. It just doesn't work with this one for some reason.
This patch works on bsnes and fxpak (means it is Rh compatible)... So if it doesn't work on mister it is either a problem with your setup or a problem with mister. If you suspect the latter you should report it to the mister authors, as we cannot help you on this forum with this.
I finally got it to load. Somehow the ROM didn't patch correctly first time. However, on MiSTer something is off with input. It's like Turbo is enabled for all buttons and even the dpad/joystick. For example when you get to the name entry screen and press a button to select a letter it gets added 3 times. And Navigating the letter select menu with either dpad or joystick is nearly impossible because of how fast the cursor jumps with one press.
I tested both SGB1 and SGB1 bioses as well as all SGB1, SGB2 and SNES speed options in the core. Nothing fixes it. The unpatched ROM does not have this issue. Not sure if it's specific to MiSTer but I reported it in case.

@mario64
this bug was confirmed to also happen on fxpak and qwertymodo tries to find a solution.
Can you try attached patch wether it fixes your problem? Thanks

Thank you but I'm getting a message saying I don't have permission to download attachments. Not sure how to fix that.Conn wrote:@mario64

Also, on the github page RaspberryAlpine states that the 0809 release doesn't fix the issue.
"The new patch (ladx-msu1_20220809.zip) did not fix the turbo button issue on MiSTer SGB."

Too bad please try again whether you can download attachments.
I can download now. Thank you :-)Conn wrote:Too bad please try again whether you can download attachments.
Not a big fan of the tracks selected for the MSU1 side of things. Also, I'd rather have the Colour Dungeon than MSU1 support. Just my 2 cents...
You can always make your own pcm set of course If we had GBC support we could open the color dungeon and had msu support there. If you are able to add a GBC color support to SGB, we'd be totally happy!!!! If not - you are totally free to play without msu support of course. We do not force anybody to use MSU-1 (just my 2 cents)lexluthermiester wrote:Not a big fan of the tracks selected for the MSU1 side of things.
