U.N. Squadron (Area 88) :: Comments
Thanks for your help polar, but the link did not help to play UN squadron. However, I did get my raspberry pi to work. And if you ask me, I do love the modded Wii U. I so far the only msu-1 that has not worked for it is UN squadron and Terranigma so it does work really well. Plus it can play any nintendo console other than 3ds and Switch (for obvious reasons). I think it is worth it.
I never dealt with a wii port or anything (so sorry if I give wrong information).
The best thing you always can do is to check the github repository of the developers (google: snes9x gx git), which in your case is this here:
https://github.com/dborth/snes9xgx
The latest version is 4.4.8
https://github.com/dborth/snes9xgx/releases
(which seems to unfortunately still uses snes9x 1.58 as core).
However, looking at the main page it says:
Based on Snes9x 1.60 (with faster Blargg S-SMP module)
So maybe you can register on github and post your problems as an issue there? Maybe they even already have a version with 1.60 core which isn't compiled yet...

I did not know that it had a built in ds emulator, that's sweet. I will keep my eye's peeled for one now. :-D. Your very welcome, Sorry that it did not help you out, but Conn gave some good advice about letting people know in the github. I would do that. At least you have your raspberry pi to fall back on. Thank you again JUD6MENT, You got me hooked on finding a Wii U now

I followed the same idea and downloaded the 4.4.8 because it claimed it was 1.60 but the read me file says based on 1.58 and i am confident no one has put a 1.60 core yet as i can not find that anywhere. I also confirmed it was 1.58 because it had the save state problem with the mega man x SA-1 we did last month.
I got my retro pi console working though so i am happy with that. Also, i don't doubt that they will update the wii or wii u again as they are both very popular for hackers because of the multiple controller types that the wii had. Thanks for your help everyone.
I just got word from a real SD2SNES/FX PAK Pro user that patch v1.1 isn't working correctly on real hardware.
I do my testing in BSNES v115 and there's no problems there, but something must be off if it fails on real hardware.

U.N. Squadron freezes (after you loose a life) of the "Target Map" screen (with a nearly invisible picture, very dark), music still playing.

This isn't happening on my setup. NTSC/U console with an SD2SNES Pro.
If it only happened to one person and can't be reproduce I'd suggest to drop it. Some people simply patch wrong, use wrong cheats or whatever... thanks, relikk.
I read on discord that some tracks should loop ($12/$13?) I could do that if wanted.

Yeah. I'd suggest looking at things in the SD2SNES options such as in-game hooks and buttons and turning them off if they are on.
Conn wrote:I read on discord that some tracks should loop ($12/$13?) I could do that if wanted.
That's only for my PCM pack. I've included a patch inside my PCM pack zip that has those tracks looped. I tested that as well and it was fine.
Console in question to aforementioned freeze is a PAL console with 50/60hz mod.
Anyway, case closed.
Could be why it doesn't play along.1. PAL 2-chip console, 50/60Hz mod via manual switch
2. FX Pak Pro with the official firmware 1.10.3. Also tried Furious custom firmware 1.10.3-v12.
3. Ingame hook is disabled.
4. No cheats are enabled.
5. The correct rom is properly patched. (BPS patch applied to US rom)
Anyway, case closed.
I got a new album for this game:

Do both patches naturally work with each other? I like the idea of full auto and modified plane prices. This seems like a good hack
I forgot to post this status update.Retroplay wrote:Console in question to aforementioned freeze is a PAL console with 50/60hz mod.
The problem on the console was not the patch, it was the PCMs that caused the freeze.
It was the old Kurrono set where some of the tracks sounded distorted as if they where recorded way too loud.
It doesn't freeze with JUD6MENT's newest guitar PCM set.
No, I applied the asm to a translated rom.Do both patches naturally work with each other? I like the idea of full auto and modified plane prices. This seems like a good hack
Some of the text are messed up and the game freeze at the weapon select screen.

On this subject, Relikk's latest patch to use his arcade PCM set is in BPS format which requires a clean rom. The new translation patch is also in BPS format. It would be nice to have a patch that merges his arcade PCM set with the new translation (which was just updated to fix some typos).
Hello, I'm the guy who made the EN+ hack.
Happy to hear that you're interested in the hack.
Lennux contacted me on Twitter last night. The EN+ hack uses the same rom space ($00:FCF0 - $00:FFBF) to extend the text messages as the MSU1 hack. I moved my stuff around a bit, to make the two patches compatible, but I haven't tested it yet. The bps version should be applied after the uns-msu1[NtscEng].bps patch, but I've also included an ips version. https://blizzz.ovh/files/uns-msu1-area88-enp.zip
The individual ips patches from the RHDN archive should already work, the conflict was only with the retranslation.

Also much thanks from me, blizzz, usually it is on my end to make patches compatible... A welcomed alternation

The only differences with the patch supplied with my audio pack are some track loop changes. If the new IPS patch by blizzz works with the main patch then it'll work with the one I included with the audio.

I tested that out earlier today and it works great.
I tested it. It works perfect! Thank you!blizzz wrote:Hello, I'm the guy who made the EN+ hack.
