Mega Man 7 MSU1 - NES version (Test1)
hi everyone !
i'm Simon B. aka Seb@s, coming from the VGM scene essentially.
a few times that i have the project of the Mega Man 7 MSU1 NES version in mind.
i based my work in majority with the Rockman 7 Famicom, it's a Doujin PC game (url) with awesome NES remakes of MM7.
Link >> PCM & Read Me !!! (89 Mo)<<
not completely tested yet, but all should be allright because i just changed the PCM files.
Read Me !!!
feel free to continue what i've done yet ,
no offense.

Looped all the tracks that needed it.
You're missing track 33, which the MSU patch's readme lists it as "Bad Helmet (No Loop)", which I suspect is track 6 on this site: https://www.zophar.net/music/nintendo-snes-spc/mega-man-7 titled "New Helmet_", but don't feel like downloading the other MM7 PCM set to check.
All the loop points I did match the MM7 SPC's loop points, even in the cases where I thought it would loop better elsewhere (I'm looking at you, track 13!!!).

Re: i started to work on ...
thanks mate edale
i have a better NES versions (not done by myself) for tracks 3, 13, 24 ,27
also have Ghouls'n'Ghosts 8-bit version if you preferer (in my first job it was Ghosts'n'Goblins)
if you want an upload to add time on, just put a message here.
i will have a look at this Track 33 this week-end to see if can find this on the web.

It's your PCM set, I'm just looping the audio for you.Simon Belmont wrote:thanks mate edale

If you'd like the set to have those alternate NES tracks, I'm fine with looping them and putting up a v2 PCM set.

Re: i started to work on ...
again, thanks edale for the time spent to loop these.
here is the pack for the update,
https://www39.zippyshare.com/v/4MeazXaV/file.html
i added a note.txt, it's all in wav, wav2msu is also inside.

Re: i started to work on ...
I didn't normalize the previous ones I did, I assumed you did.
I'm also assuming these one's aren't normalized.
So what value should I normalize them to?

I'm not playtesting this, just looping the audio so.... I can't exactly test it.Simon Belmont wrote:as you want,

Re: i started to work on ...
Well... Had all the new tracks looped and converted for days, was just waiting for the normalization level to release the v2 set. Got tired of waiting.

Here's the looped PCM tracks for the v2 set. They're not normalized, and haven't been renamed to match the PCM set.
https://www.zeldix.net/t2068-msu-1-re-normalization-lower-pcm-volume
You can use this tool to renormalize the files while retaining the loop points.
https://www.zeldix.net/t2079-bulk-rename-utitlity
This tool will let you easily bulk-rename the files to match the rest of the PCM set.
When you've got them tested and the right normalization level found, either let me know the renormalization level and I'll get the v2 set out; or pack them together into the v2 set yourself.

Re: i started to work on ...
Thank you for this. Always considered the NES titles the best in the series. If only somebody could make an NES sprite hack for the game.
7 is also in dire need of a new MSU-1 with Krzysztof Słowikowski's revision of 7. The old one is missing verses and instruments here and there.
https://mega.nz/#!2fgnnDjZ!v2nqzNq5do73Gck43EG-Xq76bdorU_1CxRcp99MikgU
One of them being the Stage Select. I made my own version of it to replace the old one in the old set. It should loop fine, but it's not perfect I feel like. Maybe because I'm OCD about it. Created from a WAV as a source.
Update: v2 added with corrected loop and loop point.

https://www.zeldix.net/t1439-mega-man-7

If someone tells me the correct level to normalize them at, I'll normalize the new tracks and release a v2, but like I said, I wasn't playtesting this one, just looping it.Conn wrote:If there is one time a new version to replace the current nes version in
