Bare Knuckle III also works well with Twilight Translations english patch.

It would need to be throughly tested as a patch checker program says it's 95% compatible at best with infinest's patch. I think infinest is going to investigate compatibility with this patch: https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/1328/

i did not get it to work in combination with english patch :-(

Try this combined patch on a clean japanese rom
I only have MD+ MAME to test, but in that it works.
[edit]
Which reminds me,
I upped a version of MD+ MAME with ini and shader files from MAME 0.171
Link is in 1st post here:

It's the same version as Relikk posted here, I just missed the CRT shader for my setup.

Thank you!! Your patch works for me on MegaSD in combination with MegaSG.

Great.
Just in case anybody is wondering why I changed header to "SEGA MEGASD", here's why:
https://github.com/ekeeke/Genesis-Plus-GX/issues/297
It's still not implemented, but I assume it will be one day, I just like to stay ahead of the game.

There's an issue with the current firmware of the MegaSD where if the header is MEGASD, when pulling up the in-game menu it brings up the CD in-game menu rather than the cart version. The differences being with the cart version you can enter cheats and use save states. The CD version has no save states and the cheats don't work for cartridge games.
The MEGASD edit is really only for detecting MSU-MD games on MegaSD, currently.
infinest finished his patch tweaks for DX compatibility and it's now up on his GitHub page along with the normal SoR3 patches.

I only use command line to load games, that way the error pop-ups don't appear like they do if run from the UI.
I'd recommend you make a shortcut of the exe and add the needed parameters to the shortcut to load the game.
In the target box of the shortcut, edit path, rename shortcut to game title.
"[path to MAME]/mdmame.exe" megadrijplus -cart "[path to rom]/(game).md" -cdrom "[path to cue]/(game).cue"
Look at the included Readme I added in the archive for running USA/Euro games.
Example above is for japanese games (megadrijplus).

Sory, there was an issue with the original patch and what you got was the result. infinest has fixed that issue now and when you see this there should be an updated patch available on infinest's GitHub.
The CUE file also needed to be changed as the track order in the DX patch was rearranged by the authors. You will need to download this CUE file for the DX patch: https://mega.nz/file/t3AkVDJI#jBQgLuU85ghHwLsB-Rtpzzm1uDwb5z76RPwUhHJFOso

What is the right order to patch for BN3 DX in order to get the MD+ soundtrack? Is there any combined patch already?
Thanks in advance
Thanks in advance

As per infinest's GitHub where the patch downloads are...
DX patch first, infinest's patch on top of that.

Unfortunately this doesn't work for me, as it still triggers the checksum check (so red screen of death) when using it with the MegaSD. It does work in the modified MAME fork though, just not with the MegaSD.
And yes, I've tried both fixing the checksum and leaving it be, and it'll red screen with both on the MegaSD no matter what. Comparing the MD+ patch to the Twilight translation patch shows there's at least one conflict between the two, so that's probably why.
