For anybody who is interested, making a track map and looking for bugs.
Also if themes shall resume after fight or so, I'd need the fight theme numbers. SPC fallback is implemented in v2 .
Patch should be compatible with any version (Eng/dub jap), No Header!

Re: Tales of Phantasia
PS1, GBA and PSP versions with a quick search. Don't know if there are any differences between them, at the moment. I can check in a while.

Re: Tales of Phantasia
Here's the extracted XA audio/video from PS1 version in case they're of any use.
Used this gem of a tool
https://github.com/m35/jpsxdec
These are unaltered 37800Hz wavs, so needs to be upped to 44100Hz for MSU1.
Video is uncompressed hence the huge file size.

Re: Tales of Phantasia
Updated to V2. I luckily found a spc fallback
Somebody needs to give me the
-hex battle Theme Numbers so I can make the previous track resume after battle
-non-loop tracks
-check for in-game bugs, like fading/mute should appear
....

You can take care of the PS1 soundtrack, if you'd like. It's a lot of tracks to get through, but I'll get around to it in a few days if you're not into it.
I'd prefer to do the "Complete Version" below, which I've already started editing.

Re: Tales of Phantasia
The sound menu tracks correspond with the hex/pcm+1
So track 01(in the soundmenu) is track $02 (hex, also pcm map)... You can listen until track 64 (hex $41 pcm 65).
Relikk found out that you can cheat for the other tracks, last one is track 79 ($50)...
https://tcrf.net/Tales_of_Phantasia_(SNES)#Unused_Music_Box_Choices
7e0206-42= track65 (pcm 66) Rally X (past)
7e0206-43=66
7e0206-44=67
....
7e0206-4f=78 (owl)
7e0206-50=79 (pcm 80) (silence)
51 will crash

Re: Tales of Phantasia
v4 is up in first post.
- added loop points according Relikk's track map
- previous music resumes after battle ($23) or boss ($41)
Anything else is up to playtesters....

Re: Tales of Phantasia
There's a normal English patch and an English dub patch. I think it refers to the spoken text at the beginning
It's v5 now (fade up). I hope I cought the correct play commands, if not, you may have mute at some instances.

Dang, this project is on a roll. I have actually never played this game before.

Re: Tales of Phantasia
Honestly, I think the dub is coming of an FT of the PlayStation version. I’ve got access to a PSIO and both Win/Mac OS so I might be able help with some beta testing here and there.

Re: Tales of Phantasia
To anyone that is testing, we need save states where these two tracks play in-game as they are apparently inaccessible from the sound test menu...
