Final Fantasy 6 Dancing Mad End Credits MSU-1 Bug.
I've finally patched an older version of Incidious' Dancing Mad MSU-1 hack and have noticed a bug involving the end credits theme. It stops playing sometime around 3 mins into the song. I would guess this is due to the PCM being spread across three separate tracks. If you install the music player included in the Ted Woolsey FT patch, you will see that the end credits involve three separate tracks. Is it possible to fix this?
Or, should we contact Insidious? He has moved on to other projects (I assume) but the Dancing Mad MSU-1 hack is getting left in the dark for a lot of people. The UI build he designed for the install no longer works with the current version of python.

I've just tested the ending, and MSU music played through the entire thing no problems.
My guess? You grabbed the OCR version of the ending, which is actually a bit shorter than the actual ending (by close to 6 minutes), so the music stops part way through the ending, while the airship is flying through the clouds.
Just grab one of these and replace the one you're currently using, and you should be fine. I recommend the FFAR version.

Oh, and I'm the one who did most of the audio work for Dancing Mad, so I can answer any questions about it if you have any problems.

Erm... The installer shouldn't be running off your Python install, it should be running off the python dependencias built into the executable... Python doesn't even need to be installed on a PC to run the installer...JHelmeke wrote:The UI build he designed for the install no longer works with the current version of python.
Be sure you're getting the newest version of the compiled installer (the .exe) from here:
https://github.com/Insidious611/DancingMadFF6/releases/
You shouldn't need anything but that exe and an unheadered v1.0 ROM to get the MSU working.
*edit- Insidious has informed me that there apparently is an issue with Python on Linux, due to an API change in PyQT5. Something about a Wizard class he used no longer being a QThread (way above my head). It's a known issue posted here:
https://github.com/Insidious611/DancingMadFF6/issues/95
If you believe the issue with Python is something else, he'd like a copy of your logs to figure things out.

Re: Final Fantasy 6 Dancing Mad End Credits MSU-1 Bug.
Hey WOW! Yep, I remember it starting after the airship starts flying around. I’ll test it later today. Thanks for helping me resolve this one guys. There may be another issue involving the Woolsey FT in which the Narshe Mines song continues playing until you enter the first castle of the game...can’t recall the name of it right now.
Although, that may be on the front end of the Woolsey patch itself. I’ll have to do just a little bit of play testing with that issue to see if it shows on the Dancing Mad side of things as well...using a vanilla rom (of course). Has anyone else encountered said issue involving the Woolsey FT?

I’ll also register myself on GitHub and see if I can’t get everything to work out. Thanks again guys. This thread is in my personal email. I’ll take it from here when I have the time. It sounds like Insidious is still active on GitHub, is that correct?

Re: Final Fantasy 6 Dancing Mad End Credits MSU-1 Bug.
He sees everything posted to the GitHub, though he may not respond right away.
There's also the Dancing Mad discord server (my main point of contact with him): https://discord.gg/HAqv6XA
But again, sometimes he'll go a fair amount of time without checking that.
