Now I'm completely confused... You said bug at spiky tiger. I playtested, found none, and now you request something... What? A video at this boss?

Or do you want him to record the bug at this boss? But then you still should describe what is happening...

@BP89
this patch eases the glitch on emu. There might still be the flash present when boss track starts on sd2snes <- this would require a nmi hook and more stuff (waiting loop causes this trouble)... Since I do not have a source, I'd need to code it from scratch, which isn't on my agenda. So hopefully this is more to your satisfaction.

Oh wow... now there's really no DS patch left I didn't tinker on. Much thanks for testing, BP (the glitch also appeared on emu, so fixing there fixed sd2snes), I updated first post with the new patch by re-hosted on my bszelda host.

I don't think I can improve the code more (without source), and it sounds ngeligible.

I'd recommend checking the original rom, whether it appears there, too.

*relieved. Well in this case you need to ask Square to fix (wich I do not recommend since this will never happen Wink )

Sam miller is doing a SoM restored, how awesome.

I am not planning on making the pcm though, no name sd does a great job at them anyway. I just thought i would share this since i saw for those that love sam miller work. I am making my own orchestra set though that should be ready in about 2 weeks

Hi there! Very Happy

As you may know, Sam Miller has recently finished his restoration the main OST for Secrets of Mana.
So, I've started looking into getting these tracks ported into the MSU1 patched game.
Though, to be honest, I have never played Secrets of Mana before or even heard the OST before this. Confused

I looked into some existing packs for reference and I noticed some .pcm files have one letter suffixes to them like "som_msu1-2a.pcm" or "som_msu1-12o.pcm".
I thought that may be just some way of "commenting them out", because multiple pcm files with the same id are present and the user has to rename the one they want to use to the correct filename. But multiple packs by different people use this method, so I'm not so sure anymore.
Am I correct with my assumption, or are these actually used by the patched game?

I haven't found any tracklist for the MSU Id's to use, so using the existing packs and an spc rip from snesmusic.org as a reference, I assembled my own list.
If anyone can verify this list, that would be a big help. Blue4

Use my PCM set as a reference. I got things named right. I noticed some of the other packs have weird named PCM as well and I spent the time verifying what each track should be. I believe you got them all correct looking at them from a glance

Ah nice, thanks! Razz (Conn)
I've compared them to your pack and these seem all to match up.

Are the tracks 33 & 35 (Unused Jingle 1 & 2) like the name suggests unused, or are they actually used somewhere?
Could these tracks be accessed in some kind of sound test menu or something?

Just tried this out and it sounds beautiful. Did I do something wrong or are the songs not supposed to fade out/in like in the original?

The track changes are abrupt and don't fade, is that it? It's not a problem on your end, fade commands should be added in the patch code.

Yeah, that's what I'm referring to. I'm guessing that every in game moment of fade out one track then fade in another needs to be identified and dealt with on an individual basis? It's probably well beyond my skills/knowledge but depending on the process I might try.

edit: Huh... I'm looking at the json file in the source for the Sam Miller's files and it has references for fade in and fade out but all three packs I've tried so far have had the abrupt stop/start, including Sam's. I think I am doing something wrong.

I'm new to this but after researching about msu1 patching I think I understand now how this works. The .ips patch specifically needs to include the fade in/out commands and not the pack of pcm files created using a json file? So if it's not working is it because the ips patch here doesn't include fade in/out? Does the inclusion of fade support in the ips just tell the msu1 to pay attention to the fade data included in the json file?
