book of mudora can warp away traps
with the asm that warps away the hyrule guards in the beginning, how difficult is it to make the book warp away sparks or winders?

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
We chose the palace guard since it blocks ways. Changing him is just a two byte change:
116408: 3F -> new sprite
1164B8: 3F -> new sprite
Change 3F (palace guard) into the sprite you want to be warped away, list by MoN:

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
okay thank you. I find that warping away unkillables are better because the game crashes if you warp away the guards.

I'm guessing it only handles one entry?

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
yes, but strangely when I set it to winders, other enemies got warped as well. I guess this is my closest request for killing beamos. I like this new weapon idea. it would be nice to see these new concepts to inspire Nintendo in making a remastered version of this game.

A better question to ask ourselves is what happens if we warp a boss?SunGodPortal wrote:I'm guessing it only handles one entry?
Does it "defeats him"? LOL

Sounds like those things that get left in games that were intended for play testers.

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
I warped ganon and it counts as a death. I guess enemies ejected is the same effect like in final fantasy when you bounce them out of battle.

LOL Cool. Sounds like this would be fun to experiment with.

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
I was thinking that giving it an mp cost would balance it then again it only works on one enemy. still it makes the book useful out of its normal get 2 medallions and open desert palace.

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
This post is confusing. I guess you mean the warp away is ok, but if you walk down the unblocked part in native Zelda it crashes, as these areas are not edited in the beginning part. You surely get the mudora somewhere later in the game where you already are in a further part and there the guards might be of use to block.okay thank you. I find that warping away unkillables are better because the game crashes if you warp away the guards.

*lol, nice that this seems to work as well ^^I warped ganon and it counts as a death. I guess enemies ejected is the same effect like in final fantasy when you bounce them out of battle.

Does it react to things with a certain GFX set or single sprite types?

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
I just glanced at the code above. Looks like it is sprite specific. Maybe your ROM is bugged or even the mod has ill effects under certain conditions. Could also have something to do with whatever your method of testing is.

Re: book of mudora can warp away traps
hm, there's a problem with my code, I didn't restore the x and y register... this may cause your bugs. I will release a new version later.
Edit:
bszelda server currently down, I will update the file as soon I get access. Until then here's the fixed patch. Try whether it works better (3F is restored, you need to reedit it).
Edit 2:
First byte change should be at 11640a:3f now
