Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
Wouldn't that basically be infinite magic (if you can't run out)?
Anyway, I'm going to suggest implementing the auto magic refill. Since the refill rate is highly customizable you could probably set it to fill up fast in the beginning but little or none after that. That might prevent the player from running out completely and if you set it up right they might not be able to spam items like the blue cane and cape on top of it.

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
well mainly I want to use the infinite magic on the cane to test out the unused damage class (i.e. the one that destroys crystal switches).

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
In that case you could either try a game genie code:
OR:
Implement the auto magic refill with all of the custom numbers jacked up to like 5A or something. If you set the refill speed high enough nothing will deplete it.
Unlimited magic:
AE8A-D4FA
AE8D-0D9A

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
the infinite magic cheat does not work on constant draining.

The magic refill will though if cranked up high enough. It's easy to add too. You change a few bytes at one address and paste the code at another and then change all of the numbers in the middle according to how fast you want it to refill. Like I said, if you have it set fast enough nothing will drain it.

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
I have never done PAR codes on zsnes. also sungodportal, the thread to the magic refill appears to be missing.

I deleted that redundant thread since that doc is included in the "Zelda3 Ultra Documents".

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
Whatever that means. You want to have infinite magic?wizrobemaster wrote:where is the address to disable the magic restriction?
Use the green magic auto refill code and put the values beyond 5A. Everything beyond that will give you infinite magic, since it will refill so fast, you can never run out - and yes, this will give you infinite Cane of Byrna, while it's in use.

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
Exactly. Of course this is actually the cheat code for unlimited green magic, which basically replaces Ram 7EF36E, to value 80, which is max for green magic.or try a PAR code:
7EF36E80

Re: removing the "you are short on magic" restriction
is there a known hex address I can find for the refill?

What do you mean? There's an entire document dedicated to this: 25 Zelda3 Green magic autorefill (by Puzzledude and MoN).

Here's the short version:wizrobemaster wrote:is there a known hex address I can find for the refill?
Expand rom to 2MB. Go to hex address 000034. You should see these bytes: A5 12 F0 FC. Change them to 22 00 80 23 = New pointer, points to 118000.
Insert code at 118000:
- Code:
08 20 0F 80 20 80 80 20 66 81 20 62 80 28 6B 08 E2 20 A5 F6 29 20 F0 06 A5 9B 49 20 85 9B A5 F6 29 10 F0 3C AF EA B0 7F F0 04 C9 15 90 11 A9 00 8F 08 B0 7F AD 02 02 F0 27 8F 08 B0 7F 80 21 48 AD 02 02 48 8F 08 B0 7F 68 68 8D 02 02 22 6C FA 0D AE 02 02 BF 15 FA 0D 8D 03 03 A9 20 8D 2F 01 28 60 E2 20 AF 0D B0 7F CF 0C B0 7F F0 05 A9 20 8D 2F 01 A5 12 F0 FC AF 0D B0 7F 8F 0C B0 7F 60 08 E2 30 A5 11 05 5D D0 46 A6 10 BF 52 81 23 F0 3E AD 02 02 C9 0F D0 13 AF 04 B0 7F 18 69 10 8F 04 B0 7F 90 06 A9 FF FF 04 B0 7F AF 6E F3 7E AA BF D1 80 23 18 6F 04 B0 7F 8F 04 B0 7F AF 6E F3 7E 69 00 10 02 A9 80 8F 6E F3 7E 8F 05 B0 7F 28 60 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 08 AF 00 B0 7F 3A C9 00 10 02 A9 1F 8F 00 B0 7F 0A AA C2 20 BF 15 82 23 8F 06 B0 7F BF 95 8D 23 8F 0A B0 7F 28 60 EB 00 00 00
Now change all the 01 bytes in the group at the second part of the code to 5A or higher. Max to FF. The result is unlimited magic, integrated into the rom.
