Terranigma / Gaia Trilogy III (PAL and NTSC) - Page 3 Empty Terranigma / Gaia Trilogy III (PAL and NTSC)

After quite some time on this project, I am proud to finally introduce the MSU-1 version of Terranigma/Tenchi Souzou to the community! It features a completely rearranged soundtrack by Martin Denk for your listening pleasure while playing the game. Only the save jingle and baby cry sound are left untouched.

Special thanks go to Conn, who helped me a lot with the progress on this patch. The hack should work on all PAL versions as well as the the Japanese NTSC version of the game.

Ok, updated my PCM pack with Roman Heuser new track.

Terranigma Orchestral Set presented by JUD6MENT (10/31/2020 update):

Single Track Update - Laboratory PCM 21:

I also posted a single track download because this album is a larger than a gb so the single download is a quick way to update.

Here is a preview of the new track, but this is only showing the new track. I am still having my old preview YouTube video be the main preview video:

The single track is only for those who already downloaded the album, right - as the only change, so I do not need to put that extra in forst post (updated link).

That would be correct, it is just a quick fix for those already downloaded the album.

Updated my PCM pack with Roman Heuser new track: Dungeon Theme.

Terranigma Orchestral Set presented by JUD6MENT (1/7/2021 update):
https://mega.nz/file/7r52gDJZ#xK9FhrYCRD28IMWnJc0Fe8hqUcLU9PZUWyXSDOuvNno
two posts below is the correct link

If you can update that above link for me Conn that would be fantastic. Also, I am posting a separate download link that will stay here in the comments. The next link is the two updated tracks I have made since the original release of the PCM set. This download will allow a fast update if you already downloaded my original tracks because this album is larger than a gb.

Single Track Updates Include Both: Dungeon Theme PCM-12 and Laboratory PCM-21:

Roman Heuser made another fantastic Terranigma cover. Here is his video. This cover includes two new tracks:

PCM-16 Tower Entrance

Here is my updated PCM pack, that I also updated in the first post:

If you have already downloaded my PCM pack, then try this download link instead. It only includes the 4 updated tracks I have made since the original release of my PCM set:

Hi, sorry for replying to an old thread but I'm really trying to get this to work and I'm having no luck.

The patch notes say that this patch should work with the Japanese version of the game as well as the western versions, but I've tried multiple Japanese roms, tried to remove the headers, tried patching with different programs, but it just doesn't work.

I'm using an FXPak Pro. I've tested it with a prepatched English rom (from archive.org) and this works on my device, but I just can't get the Japanese version to work in the same way. Is there a very particular version of the rom I need to use?

Just to be clear about what I'm trying to do here: i don't want to use a translation patch or anything like that, I want to play the game in the original language with MSU-1 support. Has anyone succeeded in getting this to work and if so how did you do it?

Forgot to mention: when I load the patched rom on my FXPak Pro, all I get is a black screen

Haven't tested on the SD2SNES, but I get a black screen on BSNES as well.

The porting wasn't much a problem, but I couldn't find the free space present in the europe rom, so maybe some data is overwritten.

Wow, thanks for the quick response!

I just tested it and it works perfectly, gonna do a full playthrough of this game now.

I really like Martin Denk's remastered arrangements here, they're clear improvements over the original tracks but they still fit well with the game's graphics. Sounds very nice from my B&O CRT's speaker too.

You are welcome. As said, I overwrote some data that is free in the europe version. I couldn't find a free data block at first glmpse. It's not much data overwritten. In best case there is an unnoticeable pixel glitch somewhere, in worst case... Smile
Ah well, let's see if you stumble into anything funny.

(on a side note, the japanase NTSC compatibility was a typo - there was meant the US NTSC crack actually).

I will see if I find anything. I'm currently at Evegreen (the part where you resurrect plants), and I haven't seen anything weird. I do think I found a part where the wrong music was triggered though: when you go to a little area to the south of Evegreen (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nsb2eFt7BCs&t=2474s 1:20:30 in this video) it triggers the "village" music but it should be just some ambient wind, this might not have anything to do with the Japanese version though, maybe the wrong trigger was in the original patch. Not very important but maybe worth fixing in an update.

I tried with snes9x:
https://filebin.net/11palinxr6tbkemd/Terranigma_msu1_-_Snes9x_1.61_2022-03-12_14-15-32.mp4
it plays the correct theme (-33.pcm)

Before you enter, it wants to load -18.pcm but this gets overwritten.

So, to narrow the problem: do you have the complete set (also 18 and 33 are part of your set? did you play with snes9x or sd2snes. If sd2snes, please countercheck snes9x.

I got an update to the Terranigma Album! Roman Heuser just released a new track, Nomads in the Desert.

Here is a preview

Here is a download link to the single new track:
https://mega.nz/file/QmAGwBwQ#TS6g3uzuqYyvklrBhbdxSc32xuLiADstDBIMm1JBHDI

This download link is for all 6 tracks that I have updated since original release of my PCM set.
https://mega.nz/file/4iZS2BjL#lixUliADWJoPgumyXGKInKjVjnmHYjheRbpQvutebT0

I also updated the main download link to be current with all the updated tracks I made.

Also if you need Conn, I have srm savepoints for every part of the game for both NSTC and PAL versions. I just see that you and spethspeth are playtesting the game for the Japanese region.

Nice, thank you Smile
spethspeth says this region at 1:20:30

doesn't play the correct music, but I cannot reproduce (shouldn't make a difference whether japa or europe as the code is the same).
