Point me in the right direction...
Point me in the right direction...
Hello all. I created this topic for the sole purpose of seeking out Euclid, SePH, and PuzzleDude. I need to get in touch with them in order to ask their permission to write a walkthrough for LoZ:PWR. If anyone could let them know to contact me, or tell me how to get in touch with them, it would be greatly appreciated.

You are at a right place, but some of us are less active nowadays.Reverend_Killjoy wrote:Hello all. I created this topic for the sole purpose of seeking out Euclid, SePH, and PuzzleDude. No need to ask permission to make a walkthrough, obviously. The problem is no one really owns the copyrights for a SNES hack, thus we are pretty much in the "don't care" mode regarding what's going on with our hacks: either "let's playing" them via Youtube/Twitch, critique them, carting them, playing them ... or writing walkthroughs. We don't respond to these actions at all.
There was also an idea by someone to "scan" all dungeons to then make a "map-walkthrough" in terms of "blueprints". The only thing I would say to this person is "go for it".
There is also no barriers regarding further hacking/remaking/remodeling these hacks into presumably something better (better dungeon design), new gfx, debugging, making spoof hacks etc. There is also no problem in taking the gfx out and using them for purposes of further gfx hacking in other SNES or other console games etc.
You are pretty much welcome to do all the above.

Awesome. I was unaware of this, but in any case, I felt the need to extend the courtesy. I must say, I'm highly impressed with the game so far. You guys did an amazing job.

Re: Point me in the right direction...
Nice. Also do note: a lot (and lot) of players actually don't agree with this. Main reason is the PW was once Tower of the Triforce with overworlds and dungeon made by Euclid. However then SePH remastered all overworlds, which are (at least in my eyes) even better than in the original game, due to new gfx. The game also uses a lot of new ASM (assembly hacks) by Euclid, which then leads to dungeon desing which was not overhauled like overworlds. Thus this is the only thing which could be better. The goal of the Remodel however was to tune down the high level of difficulty in PW. Main problem is the game is not compatible with HM.Reverend_Killjoy wrote:Awesome. This is why I only made small edits with the purpose of making the game less difficult to solve, which again however left the dungeon editing still not on par with ALTTP (some dungeon might be an exception to this however, like Sheik's hideout). But all in all at the moment PW series are still the most extensive hack of ALTTP that fells like the original (excluding the Conker hack which is even more extensive, but goes into another universe).
Still there are a lot of people like you as well, specially those who failed at PW, since with PWR they can finish the entire game without save states. Although the original was also slightly remade by Qwertymodo and me to version 1.23 which gives you "boxing" ability (ASM by Conn) to be able to finish the Guardhouse easier among other things.

Re: Point me in the right direction...
think you have your answer already, if not, take this as a yes from me.
I'm sure there's already walkthroughs around for PW though, PWR one wouldn't hurt.

Re: Point me in the right direction...
is there a copy of PW with the unchanged graphics? I would like to see the level design on HM to get an understand of the lay outs.

Re: Point me in the right direction...
Only a prototype, which is not playable. SePH made those overworlds before the final ones. There is also the Tower of the Triforce game.is there a copy of PW with the unchanged graphics?
I think I told you that PW can not be opened in HM, specially not indoors.I would like to see the level design on HM to get an understand of the lay outs.

Re: Point me in the right direction...
Does the tower of triforce game have similar level design or is it completely different from PW? does HM crash when uploading the maps just to observe them or is there a program where i can see the entire map design?

Overworlds are completely different, indoors might be somewhat similar.Does the tower of triforce game have similar level design or is it completely different from PW?
The word "upload" means transfer to internet. So you don't upload to HM at all. You don't upload anything. All you can do is view the overworld by hex editing the rom first. Thus you open or load the rom (nothing is being uploaded).does HM crash when uploading the maps just to observe them
No. But can be done with hex editing again to be able to bring the rom to "view only" in HM. In this state you can view overworld and indoors. But I'm not interested in explaining how to do this (too much explaining to do).is there a program where i can see the entire map design?
Also: getting off topic.
