Patch out Fake Powder?

I was wondering if there's a way of fixing the fake powder glitch that allows you to get half magic from the mad batter using only the somaria cane and mushroom. Sure I could just remove the mushroom or red cane entirely, but I want to have the glitch removed instead.

It's probably along the same lines as Conn's existing Cane of Somaria fix, but I think that one's only active in the Misery Mire overworld area.
