Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
I got a new preview video that i will be posting soon. The last patch was really good, we are almost done, but there is some minor things that still need fixing. I completed the johto region and moving to kanto soon. We are getting so close to finishing, thanks for your hard work Zumi

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
Ok, new video progress to share:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-u8B2FMi0jA
Most glitches are fixed but there is still a few left. I think these are the last of them.
When you pick up an item in the overworld, we have the music go quiet and not pick back up to normal volume level.
After defeating Champion Lance, a glitch happens where Mary the reporter track plays twice.
At the very end of the credits, the track that plays for "The End" screen plays twice in a row.
Time stamps are posted in the video.
Here are some links to help.
My PCM set that has all tracks in the game, however, this is not the final set as I want to change a few tracks now such as the Kanto trainer theme:
https://mega.nz/file/9nAmRZZK#HEphdRBP1bfcDVt9zrPWimc0AYSu6Kq_xq3C5TAb5KU
Save Point and Save State that is at park entrance. You can use this to pick up 3 different items and check that glitch:
https://mega.nz/file/UzIWGT4D#RIS-vDPUkWqI-O0y8ghKWKErS6OcDQlxk5NlMUHmPGo
This is a save point before fighting Lance with a save state before I finish him off with my final attack. This will help you check the last two glitches that happen at the end of the game:
https://mega.nz/file/AiRmyZxB#f1YN-S0TjNXOrbNYhfGsx-66VbIbnqNhU7qyGWbQX4Q
I am using the emulator "bsnes v115"
I am currently midway through the Kanto gyms and region in my playthrough. I am going to finish up beta testing the rest of the game when we have our next set of glitch fixes down. I have a good feeling the next patch will be the final one, we are so close to finishing!
Thank you for your hard work Zumi. Let me know if there is literally anything else I can help with.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
Little update, I fixed the audio double-playing (which seems to fix the reporter music too)
But I've yet to fix the pokeball item receive (it does not call WaitSFX but rather simply pauses. I put the restore-volume hook on WaitSFX and it doesn't fire because of that)
Once that's done I can do a preview patch. Right now it's a mix of procrastination (and some mental breaks) and doing college assignments lmao
Also, placing this idea - maybe I'd want to throw in some MSU1 fanfares after all, in places like catching Pokemon and the Pokedex review fanfares
Because now that I actually look at it it kind of has a weird flow, going from muted MSU1+GB straight to a different MSU1 tune
My exception is fanfares that continue the music where it left off right after the fanfare finishes (so leaving it as-is), unless the MSU1 is able to start off a tune from a certain position (Can it?)
I dunno, what do y'all think?

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
If you did, catching a pokemon sequence would be my only recommendation as the others i think are just fine. However, i think it is even good as is.
I am making a finished project preview video of my PCM set if you wanted to use the one i make. Up to you. It will look like my most recent video but without any glitches as we will have all glitches worked out. I like to jump around showcasing all the high points of a game and as much music as possible in my preview videos.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
Am i nuts or does the kanto trainer battle sound super quiet? Like i have my track set to -17 volume level instead of the -21 i have been using for almost all other tracks. I have even used different artists for the track and they are all quiet. Like i wonder if something is making the music drop like when you pick up an item in the world map on the old patch.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
I also thought the Champion theme was playing quiet during the recording I made, and that was set to -19, so I ended up setting that one to -17 as well to make it sound on level with the rest of the game. Is there something causing the volume level to go down for some of these battles? Or am I just choosing very quiet tracks? Most of the other battle themes are set to -19 though so I am increasing the volume on a lot of these fights. I think I am going to try Brutapode89 set to test if that makes a difference. Also I do not know if you have any of your own saves but if you need any for kanto region here is mine. I only got two gym badges so far.
Mid Kanto Region Save Points:

Also, I finished my PCM set, but I am going to do just a little more volume testing before I release it. However, I finally am pleased with all my track choices.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
I tried Brutapode89's pcm set and I seemed to be a little more quiet, but I think I might just be overthinking things. If someone wants to test out my finished PCM set and tell me what they think though that would be great. The link below is my finished set.

@JUD6MENT: Is the PCM set spreadsheet here accurate? https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1xmI_alpfi6Ftcbw4zvcZWYacuzvmhMwqwoYWGbBuezw/edit#gid=0
I want to have proper attribution for my v1 release
I think the Author column should be fixed as well

I think there are 5 different tracks not recorded on that. I changed tracks when i didn't like a few when testing in game. I will update that when i get the chance. The author column is completely wrong. I copy a different track sheet to start my personal guide to finding and filling tracks, but i will fix that up.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
I think I've fixed the double-buffer problem here in this preview version, as well as the item Pokeballs
I've also implemented the MSU-1 jingle call upon catching a pokemon / finished evolving, I've made track 93 available for that
Hopefully noticable bugs are kept to a minimum so I can release it maybe by this weekend

This is awesome Zumi! I have a really good feeling about this patch. I am going to try to finish the game on my beta playthrough by tomorrow night. Fingers crossed, would love to release this by the weekend.

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
Ok, two things:
Brutapode89 we have PCM 93 we need to update in both of our PCM sets. If you want to use mine here, I used Heartgold and soulsilver for mine so it will fit into yours.
https://mega.nz/file/gjAnlCxR#roDJhhMo9UErd-vPS0hSUxKhnGnMsH5Qs31L2AbafDY
And secondly for Zumi, we were so close! I was actually filming my finally preview video because I have been playing your patch a bunch and found no problems until I started to film a new run preview. I found one last glitch (sigh).
The last glitch I found is when you start a new game, after receiving your starter pokemon, we have the "caught a pokemon" jingle play. At that moment, all music cuts out. I think the next patch fix is going to be a winner though! We are almost there, thanks for your hard work Zumi!

Oh yeah, I forgot that's used there too...

It's either I go into the battle system to patch in a very specific call to the MSU1 fanfare or I axe out the MSU1 fanfares altogether
I'll see what I can do
EDIT: Here's another preview patch lol, patched the text command that automatically plays the caught jingle. Things to check:
1. Any instance of "caught pokemon" fanfare in the overworld (should be GB)
2. Egg hatching (should be MSU1, music should stop until map music runs again)
3. After evolution (should be MSU1, music should stop until map music runs again)
4. After catching (should be MSU1)

Re: [Super Game Boy] Pokemon Gold & Silver MSU1
Zumi, I think we got it! I can not find a glitch anywhere.
I am having my official showcase video uploading right now and both PCM sets for both games (with PCM 93 included). I am going to bed but both things will be ready in the morning!
You can use my showcase video as the front page preview video if you desire. It is up to you, I dont mind either way.

Let me know when you're done with the updated attribution sheets

Then I can start working on properly packaging a first release
