Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, an update to vanilla Mortal Kombat 3 and the goto for competetive circles.  Added characters, returning fan favorites, and new added stages make this the default MK3 among many.  When it came to the home consoles, the SNES and Genesis more specifically, it didn't have the same affect for those who loved the arcade counterpart.  Several changes were made but are too long to list, so going here is a good place to see most if not all changes.  Even between both console versions they have their differences, while some say the SNES is the better choice others are all for the Genesis version.  Here is one such battle between the different versions showing off the good and bad of both:



Whichever side is chosen with a particular perspective the hacking community has done work for both, of course this is one is focused on the SNES version.  Docrow has come up with a very simple yet effective hack which makes the secret menus available from the start, allows bosses to be used in 1-player mode, and the ability to choose Human Smoke with a simple "hold Start and press any button (except Y or B)" or in the rotating boss panel on the character screen, and even having the incomplete Chameleon character just as a "why not" which is also in the rotating boss panel.  There are two versions available:
