Hello everyone,

Can anybody helping me or tell me how to edit an Zelda3 ALTTP menu with own
tekst and own pics
i'm so far that i can change the colour of the Big Zelda txt so you can see in crey with white and black but i will learn more about this sort kind of hacking

Extend rom to 2MB. Add 200 byte header.
Open Windows CMD command prompt. Run zcompress with the CMD. Use command: zcompress 0 [filename].smc GFX.bin
This will extract gfx into bin file.
Load bin file in YYchr program.
Load rom in Zsnes emulator and save state when outside to create ZST save state.
Load ZST save state in YYchr while the rom is opened to load the correct palettes.
Go to gfx address with the A LINK TO THE PAST title.
Draw the new title (dot by dot) and save the bin.
Go to zcompress and recompress new gfx .bin file into smc by using the command: zcompress 1 87200 [filename].smc GFX.bin.
Open the rom in Hyrule Magic and go to Screen editing. Select Title screen.
Select correct Pal and use the "draw" to redraw titlescreen elements on Bg2 (small rectangles) with the new gfx to make a new title.

Okay bin file creation works great but then comes for me the prob
ill got make an expanded headered file of 2.049 MB
then i do so on the command prompt

zcompress.exe 0 Zelda3.smc Zelda3Gfx.bin

he makes than that bin file what you say
load the bin in YYCHR get all garbage things in brown colours

to 4BPP SNES /PCE OG ???
but than it so in that brown colours
now it comes the probs when i make an zst screen with Zsnes outside links house or ? when i see the title screen with
A link to the past?
i''ll hef make that but when i load that zst file in YYCHR
the title ** A link to the past ** is not showing up Sad

Make your ZST when whatever it is that you want to edit is on screen. It doesn't save every palette, only the ones that are loaded at the time.

It's in there. Keep looking.

Also, why are you using ALL CAPS FOR YOUR THREAD TITLES? I'm sure I'm not the only person who hates that.

but what you say about the ZST file the rom most loaded on that position that i wont to edit in YYCHR
with other words when i see the intron in my ZSNES with the big Zelda letters and the tekst link to the past than is it good?
but when do i save a state when that intro comes or when i walking out links house.?

but when do i save a state when that intro comes or when i walking out links house.?

If you want to edit the title screen, make a ZST when the title screen is displayed. If you do it any other time you will have the wrong palettes. Make a ZST when your edit target is on screen.

Maybe you can me help with another thing maybe its not so difficult for me as beginner
i strungler with door staircases

read this i got 1 room is pieces of 4
2 rooms below and 2 rooms above
i will make an walkthrou of the 2 above rooms from the left side to the ride or vise versa
the room is the first one did i see

how did i do this
i try many things but when i walk inside
than going to the room and on another moment i stand 3 rooms further on the ride side of it Sad

Did you try to add rooms to Link's house? Or did you make rooms elsewhere that are leading to Link's house by accident?

So when you go through the door that's circled you end up in room 256, right?

What type of door (ie: 001, 007, 03F, etc.) is that?

Have you tried it with an 06F? 0C5 may be a door that is meant to lead to different rooms rather than the room next door.

Read the Hyrule Magic guide.
Primary door to insert in case of horizontal movement is door that leads to the left and with type-0 (it will go to a "double" automatically). You must not have special doors in Link's house. You maybe have too much jars in the room, which can cause problems. The game has its limits, of what you can do.

Regarding the room header. In this room you don't have any staircase or warp or hole. And there must be none in Link's house. If you don't have holes, warps, staircases, you must not fill in the values, you decheck them completely by pressing the arrow-button-up, which is right of the telepatic message. This wil "close" the staircase frames all together.

Real doors also have hex values. Double click the door to see its hex value.

What i do what i change nothing has change and stays the same
i dont know whats happend
but when i walk to the door right to the left room
then i go in the room and quickly furter to warp/room 271
i can change what i wont but everything stays the same with other words NOTHING change it stays me dropping to room 271
what ill do :@

Try to read what I've written above.
You must not have special doors in Link's house or it can cause problems. You maybe have too much jars in the room, which can cause problems. The game has its limits, of what you can do.
Or in other words remove this door completely, remove the door leading up, remove all jars (15 jars in one room is too much). Those things are for dungeons, not Link's house, and certainly not for rooms above 255.

PS
You already bugged your rom (room scroll bug). Use the backup or ASM to debug it.

Okay Puzzle you say youre rom is bugged maybe but not on
the room scroll bug ill did the same to the original rom A link to the past and it was the same failer ill do what wrong when i add a door maybe the wrong door i dont know but with the link to the past is it the same issue what ik get when i do that Sad

I tested this out.

The game will not allow for you to have a horizontal door in room 260 on the upper possition.

This bug is a part of the original game - basically the scrolls were falsly set by original authors (or they just didn't bother fixing this), since they did not predict more than one small room (=one quarter of the room) in this global room 260. So no such transition exists in Alttp. Like said above: try not to exit rooms beyond 255 drastically. Edit dungeons instead.

Do not use this door. You need to remove this door completely. (debugging this is possible, but it needs ASM and not many people can trace and undo this).

So what you suggest when you like me not a good enough knowlegde of ASM or better say totaly not you can better start over with an new rom ??? to hack and throw this one in the carbage can ????

ps.... verticaly door works or better no more doors as the original in links house?

You can fix this problem by simply remove the horizontal door in room 260 using HM. No ASM needed for this. Why do you force a door, where the original Alttp has a bug?
Start with a new rom will do you no good, all Alttp roms and hacks have this bug.

i go work it so remove the door in room 260
both of them there are vertical door to no not the door to going outside haha they other vertical door and than the horizontal door

ps.. by the way im now busy with an new VC injector to compile that can inject files o above the 6 mb hope above the 8 mb than i can inject youre IQ version into wad Razz
