AST editor file not opening up
Whenever I download the AST editor, I get the URL shortcut instead. Do I need a plug in to download the file?

Don't know what the deal is. Download it compiled here:Whenever I download the AST editor, I get the URL shortcut instead. Do I need a plug in to download the file?
http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/sekibanzips/ASTDE%20V0.9a%20bin.rar
Unrar the rar file into a folder. Run the exe file normally, which is inside.
You asked the same question here:
https://www.zeldix.net/t1299-ast-dungeon-editor
and it was aswered. Why would you start another topic on this?

That just sounds counter productive, naive and "un-intelectual".I can't get the source code. I am getting no file at all (not even a zip form or anything). Is it an actual program like HM, or is it more complicated that requires assembling files together?
If you are unable to download a packed file, unzip/unrar it, and then doubleclick on the exe, then you can forget about romhacking or romhacking communities.

I believe you were kindly asked to not bombard the forum with questions, specially if they are dumb and make no sence. You were even re-asked that. And yet you are doing the same thing again. We are now asking you for the third time to not troll the forum.wizzrobemaster wrote:Zeldix magic will allow sprite property edits?
It seems you have problems with one basic rule: use common sence when posting. If you don't, the mods migh get tired of constant locking and move to some other methods.

Re: AST editor file not opening up
We currently have the discussion about a wizz ban in the admin forums, as it gets nasty. However, the majority of us admins, mods are against since he is not violating rules, like offending people. Then, there are unintended side effects like he's giving ideas; qwerty e.g. included the l2 lantern into pw due to an off-topic he initially started.
Trovsky will delete posts/remove topics that are obsolete, I am sure
My best advice is to just ignore him rather than geting into rage.

I have to say I'm just a regular user and will obviously let you decide how to handle things. I believe my advice to wizz was as kind as possible. He just needs to limit the questions and ask them in a way, that will not make him or the question look dull.

It would be best if wizz was more independent and learned on his own. It would be nice to have him limit his questions and ask better better questions, but I'm not sure if there 's a better way other than to just lock bad threads of his. Do you have a solution?

Nothing else but filtering
- double asked topics (like this, he asks the AST editor question twice now -> delete complete topic
- spoiling/polluting another thread with unwanted comments -> delete posts
- opening obsolete discussing stuff -> move into wizz forum (cannot find it anymore, is it deleted)
- else: there is no obligation for us to read/answer help to every stuff... .... ...

I was not trolling the forum.
I know and this is the reason why we decided to not ban you
But all these endless questions without having even an own project, as well as asking stupid questions "I cannot open rar archieves"... is really special.
I hope you understand that we do not have time for your problems here, since it seems you are an absolute beginner and not even know the basic computer stuff - I strongly advice you to get into another hobby, since asm is even much more complex than opening a rar archieve

Re: AST editor file not opening up
Okay so here is a better question: where can I find a list of the hex data of each item and known event? I want to know the location of the hearts dropped by bosses so they do not drop them anymore. That way i can add more heart pieces in the game.

Re: AST editor file not opening up
Not a better question, as it makes no sence. You want change what items do... bad idea.where can I find a list of the hex data of each item and known event?
Easy to do, But despite a lot of info on this, I actually have no idea how Euclid mannaged to still drop the treasure (pendant/crastal) afterwards.I want to know the location of the hearts dropped by bosses so they do not drop them anymore. That way i can add more heart pieces in the game.
Bosses don't drop heartcontainers is easy: at 2EF4C, change D0 04 to EA EA, but pendants will Not drop (=bug), since you can not finish the dungeon.
The minibosses work however:
Allow kill boss again tag to be used in any room (no just Agahnim2)= 10908, change from F0 to 80. This allows multiple minibosses with the tag "kill boss again" which allows minibosses to not drop hearts and will not bug the game (otherwise the menu will not work, as the game thinks it was the final boss - so its needs that tag kill boss again, which now can be set anywhere).
The other FSNASM code by Euclid says this:
04EE4F= change to A9 DA (safety to drop 5 rupees in case of problems)
main pointer at
04EE53= 22 96 FA 07 (= jump tp 3FA96)
write new code at 3FA96:
AD 03 04 09 80 8D 03 04 22 5F F6 1D 6B
However it seems that this jump has no effect without EA EA at 2EF4C, but pendant is not dropping!
------
Another aproach by Reshaper:
actual drops by bosses:
Armos= 2A079 (EA is heartcontainer)
Lanmola= 2A538 (EA is heartcontainer)
All others= 4EE50 (EA is heartcontainer)
Reshaper changes it to heartpiece= EB instead of EA,
and then fixes the pendant drop at
2F006: 40 20 to C0 A0
but this only works if sprite is EB
Putting it to DA (5 rupees) or 1D (useless sprite= thus no heart drop from boss) still does Not drop the pendant!
So no idea how Euclid still managed to drop the pendant afterwards, as it does drop in Parallel Worlds (despite no heart drop).

Re: AST editor file not opening up
Parallel Worlds has it like so:
2A079= EA (still drop heartcontainer)
2A538= EA (still drop heartcontainer)
4EE50= DA (drop 5 rupees= debug)
but 2EF4C= EA EA (main interrupt to not drop any hearts from bosses)
04EE53= jump to 3FA96
3FA96= code: AD 03 04 09 80 8D 03 04 22 5F F6 1D 6B
10908= 80 (tag kill boss again in all rooms activated), set for minibosses only, this is not set for main bosses in PW, as it would again not drop the pendant.
But still something is missing here which allows the pendant drop, as above setting do not drop pendants afterwards, if above is set in ALTTP.
This also does not work if any sprite but EB (heartpiece) is choosen
2F006: 40 20 --> C0 A0
Seems like this "high bit" is set separately for any sprite, if the Reshaper's method is used, and the above only works if the bosses drop heartpieces.

So it seems each sprite drop equivalent to container need a separate fix for also dropping a pendant afterwards (if this method is used). Not sure what Euclid made to fix it.

Euclid wrote (this is FSNASM):
but again this does not drop the pendant or it has no effect: ie still drops the container and then pendant but never:
drop No container and then pendant. So this does not work either.
also "somewhere" is probably the SNES address, which must be inserted, I choose
$0EF000, since this is empty in ALTTP (same result).

Here's a snes9x save state just before Armos Knights if someone wants to test why the pendant is not dropping after: 2EF4C: D0 04 --> EA EA:

Re: AST editor file not opening up
Okay thank you.
So anyway, the damage class I used for the Somaria block, never use it for any projectile based attack because it will destroy peg switches. Changing the Sword beam to damage class 2 strangely stuns Trinexx's heads.
