Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom Versions
For the people who have played the two different versions of Goddess of Wisdom (Goddess of Wisdom v3.0 and Goddess of Wisdom Redux), which one is better? What is different about the two?
Just something I was thinking about considering I only recently found out about GoW Redux.

Re: Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom Versions
As you know, GoW was my first major hack (the very first was a remade original game), which I decided to make from another hack, Shards of Might and it was very bugged and some dungeons were missing. But at the end of the day it turned out to be on par with master quests. Then jammer remade all the difficult rooms to be simpler and easier, taking out statue pushing riddles and also dash jumping sections.
If you are into "normal" gameplay than the remake is for you, if you are for more difficult games, on par with speedrunning or masterquests, than the original is for you. But I would recomend you jammer's redux. Also, not much of the game is changed, so if you go for the redux, there's no need to go for original. Jammer also edited the monolgoues to have some kind of a story, while removing some "offensive" language. He also added some new gfx.

Jammer's remake:

Both games also have the versions with the MSU enhanced sound, but you need a MSU supported device/emulator and the PCM audio pack.

Oh I see, thanks for clearing that up Puzz. I was definitely wondering what was different between the two ever since I found the Redux version, and now I know. Hopefully will be playing them both at some point.

Actually another question that came to my mind, how do you tell what version you have of the original Goddess of Wisdom? I want to see what version I have of GoW.

Re: Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom Versions
Nice that you know already, but it is visible directly with the title screen. Original GoW doesn't have it, while the Redux has the ice sword and the title GoW written. The remake also has a different colour tunic and also gives you the strongest tunic rigtaway in your house.Actually another question that came to my mind, how do you tell what version you have of the original Goddess of Wisdom? Re: Zelda: Goddess of Wisdom Versions
The original hack on which this hack was based off (Shards of Might) was always meant to be a smaller scale romhack. It was made made over the course of a few months. The dungeons were made by Dude Man and were originally made for Dark Prophecy, but were later scrapped and Omega (The other Dark Prophecy author), offered me to create small scale overworlds to feature them (or rather salvage them), while he worked on a basic story and MathOnNapkins was going to work on asm hacks for it.
Sadly he never released it afterwards and I decided to release it as an "abandoned hack" way back in 2009. It is interesting to note that there's an asm patch for Shards of Might that never was used and ironically fixed many of the hack original issues, but was never applied to the final build that I had released.
