Re: Street Fighter 2 MSU1
hi,
yes i have all my stage pcms set with loop points. Uploaded my json file where you can see the loop settings and so on!
All endings doesnt need a loop point, so i think iam ready.
It seems it was a missunderstanding between us. I use the arcade cps2 sounds for the snes msu for both games.
What did you use? SF2 HD Remix OC? Or also the cps2 files?
thanks

Do you have the patched rom with PCM file?

Re: Street Fighter 2 MSU1
Have you read the Guidelines, specially the first line, which reads to never ask for a Rom.megaMANX6 wrote:Do you have the patched rom with PCM file?
Yes, I have a patched rom. And you can too, if you patch the original rom with the IPS, provided in the first post as a download link. However it seems the actual MSU soundtrack is not yet available, like stated by the read-me. This is because hacking MSU code is completely separate from someone actually making the conversion of the selected wavs into the pcms.

Great. This is it then. New music for the win. Here https://www.dropbox.com/s/le2p3gmntwdsktf/sf2_turbo_msu1.rar?dl=0
That's because you patched to the false original Rom/Roms. Usually if you get a black screen, you are using headered roms, when you should be using non headered ones, or (like in this case) you are using non headered roms, when you should be using headered ones.i tried various ssf2 roms with the patch and get nothing but a black screen on bsnes and snes9x.
You can not just patch to a random original rom and expect things to work. IPS is an obsolete format, that no one bothers to update to UPS, which would clearly state "you patched to the false rom". You need to verify the original rom via CRC id. It must be the !exact same rom! down to the last byte, which the creator of the IPS used to make the patch.
Even worse than the black screen is for you to patch to a false original rom and then get a bugged rom, which would still load the game. This might result in random game-crashes while playing.

Re: Street Fighter 2 MSU1
Don't suggest UPS patches, they may be better than ips but they're effectively a dead format. Switch to bps instead. You get checksum verification, and even delta patches for larger projects.

Re: Street Fighter 2 MSU1
Im almost done with mario kart pcms..im just adjusting it for 2 versions....sd2snes. And for bsnes snes9x... sd2snes demands louder pcms...i did my pcms wrong in the past cause iwasnt using a real super nes i was using hyperkin reteon 2 ..and thats not stereo
..is dual mono... so the songs needed to be lowered bad

No, don't do that. The SD2SNES is fixed in firmware. I and many others have spent countless hours trying to get rid of all of those boosted audio packs, please don't make another one.

Re: Street Fighter 2 MSU1
BPS and Xdelta are the most recent and efficient formats, but they are far from standard. They are simply too orthodox and far less used than IPS and UPS. It's really more a matter of taste if you ask me. I've yet to see a BPS patch for the NES or SNES on RHDN. Practically 90% are IPS. I even got hate message for not uploading IPS, since I uploaded the Xdelta patch once.qwertymodo wrote:Don't suggest UPS patches, they may be better than ips but they're effectively a dead format. PW v1.20 was .bps (though, I just noticed you used .ups for PW v1.23... meh :/)
Basically, my main point was to not suggest UPS. IPS vs BPS might be a matter of taste, but UPS is a dead and failed patch format (even byuu considers it a failed experiment). Snes9x supports .bps hotpatching, and alcaro created FloatingIPS specifically to look like a clone of LunarIPS for anybody who really wanted that. At this point, people who want to keep using IPS will do so, but if you want the fancy features and are considering UPS, you should really use BPS instead. The issue with Xdelta was most likely that it's simply not used in the SNES scene much, if at all. Xdelta is more used in disc-based systems along with PPS (I'd expect the same kind of annoyed pushback if you tried to release an SNES ROM hack in PPS format).
