Super Mario World MSU+
Description:
This patch is in contrast to Conn's hack compatible to most patches offered at SMW Central. Furthermore, Luigi has a different speech and the overworld has different themes.

Turning Off Custom SFX / OW Music:
If there is a wish to disable either Mario/Luigi speech or the OW Music feature, please refer to the ASM file for such. Do note that for changes to take effect, you need to assemble the file right into the ROM image with Alcaro's Asar:
- Code:
!LuigiSFX = !True ; !True = Activate alternative SFX songs for Player 2, !False = No alternative SFX songs for both players
!OWMusic = !True ; !True = Activate OW Music patch by smkdan, !False = Deactivate multiple songs on Overworld
IMPORTANT SIDENOTE: There is 3 different MSU-1 patches for Super Mario World that each accomplish slightly different thing. Each set has PCM sets that are designed for that specific patch. Do not mix PCM sets with the wrong patch. For quick links to the other SMW MSU-1 patch pages, follow links below:

Super Mario World MSU+ :: Comments
Re: Super Mario World MSU+
I neither cannot tell, SuperFeistyFox reported... I think I could code it myself. The native rom has no serious lags, with fastrom this is even better, with SA-1, well... hijacking the nmi is not much a problem.I can't really see a compeling reason to move the hijack back to NMI, as the main loop is called every frame and the 1 second delay doesn't seem to be that much frustrating
Relikk started:
When a normalized PCM pack is available, a new patch with FF will be issued. Although this pretty much means every other pack with boosted volumes will be deprecated
https://www.zeldix.net/t1437-super-mario-world-msu
It takes some time until he normalized the remaining 4 sets, but yours already on FF:
https://www.mediafire.com/file/g4nsqiho8p2um10/smw_msu1_plus_colines_kiddo.zip/file
I think I will process "my" fork since it is already FF and SA-1 to have the nmi hook... then this patch can be regarded as final and we can close this topic
ok, here's the new patch (both normal and SA1):
- normalized to FF
- sd2snes should not have the 1 second delay
- SA1 compatible (also with upcoming versions without need to recompile)
http://bszelda.zeldalegends.net/stuff/Con/smw_msu1+_PATCH.zip
All sets (except Jud6Ment) are to FF.

Nice. I've also revised my files:
https://bin.smwcentral.net/u/26932/smw_msu1%252B.zip
Few things to be aware off:
-Minor refactoring to remove legacy code;
-Readme updated, outdated stuff was removed and now the page at Zeldix is the main source for PCM packs;
-Onedrive folder is no longer available;
-Restored SA-1 sound functionality for real hardware in the ASM, no patch will be provided though. Assemble it yourself, or grab the one made by Conn.
For future bug reports, make sure to be using the latest version linked above, no support can be offered outside of official releases. For those, refer to their respective authors.
The page at RHDN will be updated too.

Awesome, so looking at the changelog you set the volume to FF, however did no further changes?
I'm curious if "my" version (sorry, it's still yours, I only did minor changes but need to differ somehow) fixed the 1 second delay on sd2snes... Superfeistyfox?

I've done some cleaning in the ASM file too, but that mostly consisted in removing useless stuff (Emulator/SD2SNES defines). The busy flag for SA-1 was also "de"commented in to whoever wishes to build their own ROM and play on real hardware
Ok, I joined the club and got my PCM track volume changed. It will be nice to have a consistent volume level for the two patch version going forward.
I joined the club and got my volume level changed for SMW+
Thanks for sending me a message and informing me Conn, I probably would have never known as I am not following this message board of the restored PCMs

I don't know as that is not my music pack being played, but maybe you would like viewing the music i gathered when making my music pack. I used some of this music but not all of it, but liked everything i added.

All the creepy stuff in the middle helped me make my haunted house track more creepy if you are curious why they are there. My playlist does contain some tracks here such as the underground theme or underwater theme.
To whoever wondering, the MSU-1 patch works flawlessly on the Widescreen patch by Vitor Vilela:
https://github.com/VitorVilela7/wide-snes
You will have to apply the ASM file (smw_msu1.asm) directly to the ROM, after having patched the Widescreen hack, though. For such, use Asar:

So last time to get it running with the SA-1 improvement+Msu1 I applied the SA-1 Patch and then the MSU+ patch. How do I do it now, widescreen then SA-1 and then the ASM file? Or can't I use the SA-1 Patch with the widescreen patch?
The Widescreen patch already comes bundled with SA-1:

After having patched the above, just apply the smw_msu1.asm file with Asar into your ROM.

Super Mario World (Simple) (MSU-1)
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1IFTEqyAWRxPb13tJMKSp1I5zxTlKHKwv/view?usp=sharing
Found that somewhere, it was originally available back in 2017...........no speech or weird cowboy noises or, jarring whistle noises.
Save that to a, windows notepad file, change the file extention to .asm
Open "Asar 1.8.1", select your patched rom with msu-1 or with the msu-1 SA, enter the name of the patch, example: "name.asm" and then the name of the Rom file, Example: "mario.asm".
Your Super Mario Rom will work like normal, no weird voice or whistling noises, and none of that, multiple (SPAM) audio on the overworld.
Thanks for the MSU!!!!!!!!!!! (game has some "ad nauseam", it uses to build "tension", that is why it doesn't have a lot of audio tracks...............)

Does anyone have new links for the 3D World, Odyseey, and Wii soundtracks?

I updated my PCM set today.
Updated on June 6th, 2022 – Replaced a few tracks with better music I found, edited the tempo on a few tracks, adjusted the volume level on the majority of tracks.

Hello, For some reason the alternate overworld themes for mario and Luigi are not working. i can't hear a difference. i am using the files by Colines/Kid do.
I'd suggest to listen to the tracks with foobar
https://www.zeldix.net/t1543-msu1-audio-player
If there's no difference, there's a mistake and alternative tracks don't exist (if the code supports alternative tracks, simply choose own ones). If there's a difference there's probably a naming issue
