If you have not updated your PCM packs with the doctor light theme included, the below link may help.

Mega Man X3 :: Comments

Hey, i should have Krzysztof Slowikowski guitar playthrough done by the end of the week. I actually already converted all the stages so i only have about 8 more tracks to do. Also, i cant find doctor lights theme in the track list or the pcm files already available, is there a way to have a pcm play for doctor lights theme or is that song not part of the rom hack? Am i just missing something? Because i have no clue what track number doctor light should be.

I just finished making the new PCM for the guitar playthrough, once i play through the game and check everything is working great and the volume is the right level i will release it here for others to have.

Ok, I played through my Krzysztof Slowikowski PCM music tracks I made and I think they all sound at the right volume level and work great. Here is my link if you want to play X3 with this guitar play through.

Nice video (for all who have problems reading the message, download the file blade provided and use alttp video player to play it).
It depends on DarkShock if he wants to add fmv support to his patch, "my" video asm is free to use:

But it is sometimes hard to get into the ingame routines again.

For anyone curious the MMX3 Zero Project patch seems to work perfectly on the version 4.0 release patched rom. I only did a preliminary test though, loaded it up and everything appeared to be correct.

I as well have done what Lordmonkus has done and played threw the first level. I have found no issues with the 2 patches. I would like to state that you have to do the V4.0 patch first then the msu1 patch. If you do it the other way it will not work. :-)

@JUD6MENT Were you able to figure out where the Stage Start theme goes in the PCM track list? I ask because the song seems to be missing from your PCM set, as the PCM file doesn't play when I have the MSU-1 patch applied. Could any other PCM tracks be missing?
I also noticed that, when I use both the Zero Project 4.0 and MSU-1 patches together, Neon Tiger's PCM file doesn't play. The rest of the PCM files seem to play fine, though. How odd.

I just checked my download link and nothing is missing, tested it myself. if you didnt set everything up then it will play the default original music. If you set it all up and it you are missing a track it will sound blank. Make sure your rom reads "mmx3_msu1.sfc"
The intro is track number 1
As for zero project, never tried it so i may be no help there.

I was actually referring to the "Boss Selected" jingle (track 15, I believe), lol, my mistake.

I believe you are right, for me, it just plays the default soundtrack. I will try to get a PCM for it soon and give you a update when i do.

MET (who used to be known as Krzysztof Slowikowsk before he changed his user name to MET), anyway, MET is doing a new updated version of Megaman x3 cover! He did this a about a year ago where he redid his Megaman X2 playthrough to sound better since he had improved as a musician and i did the PCM of his updated X2 cover. I plan on doing the PCM for this new version of X3 as well. Way excited!

I was able to replace the stage start jingle myself with the PS1 version, however the one I'm have trouble with is the Dr. Light capsule theme. The PCM pack seems to skip tracks 15 (stage start jingle), 23 and 25, though neither 23 nor 25 seem to replace the Dr. Light theme. What gives? There's only 32 tracks in the game, so I don't know what else to try

I have asked darkshock (he did the coding for this game) about doctor light theme and we can not make that theme MSU-1. It is too tied in the coding and he did not know how to make it work, so that one will have to be original soundtrack play instead. Same for X1 and X2 Dr. Light themes.

That's strange. I wonder why specifically the Dr. Light theme is hard-coded into the game, but not the other songs. Well, at least I can stop worrying about not having every song and finally play the game

It appears I've run into another problem. Both Doppler stages 1 and 2 play the same song, even though Doppler stage 2's song is in the PCMs. It's track 24 in the pack, but changing it to 23 or 25 doesn't work

Are you sure? Mine works fine, and looking at a few online MSU-1 runs they work right. One thing to know is that you do not hear doppler stage theme 2 until you are in the room of 8 capsule with the rematch boss fight. Unlike X 1 or 2 that has a different sigma stage theme for each sigma stage, X3 shares the doppler stage 1 theme for the first two doppler stages.

WolfyBuilder wrote:Ok, it does work like you said. My mistake!
If it make you feel better, i did have to watch a normal play through of X3 just to be positive, because the previous 2 games didn't follow that pattern.

Hey Everyone, MET (who once called himself Krzysztof Slowikowsk before he changed his user name) released his updated Megaman X3 full guitar play-through this last Saturday. I have been working hard on it like I promised I would and I am almost finished. It sounds amazing, this guy just took something amazing and made it twice as good. I got all the loop points done and I am going to go to bed. I will complete it and upload the PCM tracks tomorrow night.

Hi Conn, if you can replace my link with this one that would be great. I also got a youtube preview. This is a redo improved guitar playthrough from MET and a brand new PCM set. I want it to replace my old one since that one is outdated. On the slim chance someone still wants to download his old version, I have a readme file with a link to the old version inside it as part of the new download.
Here is a showcase if someone wants to watch. MET really outdid himself this time, it is an amazing album.
