TMNT IV: Turtles In Time :: Comments
Re: TMNT IV: Turtles In Time
Hello,
I have a request for the Arcade Music pack.
1. Add the TMNT '89 arcade Technodrome track to replace both SNES Technodrome Stage tracks
2. Replace the SNES Stage Announcer voice clips with the Arcade Announcer voice clips
3. Alter the Super Shredder fight music so it plays the small jingle when he transforms at the beginning (before the main part of the track starts playing)
Example...
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m9UY0Q76Gs0 (starts at 34:27)
Thanks a million for the music pack as is and for hopefully taking my recommendations into consideration!

So, I did this for the Shredder fight...
I have the arcade voices done, but I won't be changing the Technodrome tracks. The sound style between the two arcade games is too different for my liking. Then you have the SPC tracks for the other stuff that's missing. It's a mishmash of three different styles.
The link is updated in the OP.

I agree with @Relikk about the mishmash of styles, however, the great part about MSU is that it's very easy to modify the music being played yourself. There are tutorials on the site (and floating around the internet) for converting your own tracks to PCM and once you've done that you can drop it in the folder and have your very own perfect (to you) custom version! Pluss you learn a new skill and who doesn't like learning..?

Absolute perfection! Thanks a million!

Are these in the new updated link for the former and understood for the latter.

Will look into these tutorials.
Also, Cubear, whilst I have you, I contacted the author of this patch on Romhacking.net about making it compatible with the MSU-1 patch...
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/3999/
He told me "I don't know if I could. There's a lot of bureaucracy in doing addendum hacks". I was wondering if you and DarkShock could give your permission for not just this hack but this hack as well...
https://www.romhacking.net/hacks/5829/
The path of least resistance would likely be creating an account on Romhacking.net and posting in their forums about giving permission to getting both patches compatible with the MSU-1 patch. I can PM the other hack author to ensure both authors are working in tandem on a new MSU-1 patch.
Let me know what you think.
Yep. The Shredder fight track from the video, and the arcade stage intro voices are included in the link.
I can't speak for DarkShock (to my knowledge he no longer visits the site) but he has his hacks open-source.
All my work is also open source, and if people would like to adapt it for their own hacks I approve.
To the best of my knowledge it shouldn't be hard to make the patches compatible with each other, probably just needs a bit of moving things around in freespace

Hello. I'm new to the scene and fascinated. Does anyone know the PCM track number for "Escape"? It's the song that plays when Shredder jumps into the portal before the time travel shenanigans. I figured I could ask first before trying every unused number and narrowing it down .
Hello again. I just wanted to share with the community that I'm new to. So, I was always a huge fan of the '89 arcade boss music, so I wanted that in TMNT4 SNES. That's how it started. From there, this is where I'm at....

Still a prototype. PCM file sizes are hilariously big because I haven't figured out loop-points yet (so the tracks are 7 min long), but yay this taught me how to loop game tracks in Audacity >;P. Still haven't figured out the PCM track numbers for "escape" as well as some others. (trivia: the opening is the ending song from the TMNT original cartoon ) Gameplay quality is obviously not perfect. I haven't played the game since I had it as a kid, plus I'm playing on a keyboard. But it's all about the music!

Best thing to do to figure out which track is which, is to use qwertymodo's PCM playback plugin for foobar2000.
That's a great program for playback. Thank you.
The problem is this track doesn't have a PCM file (yet). It's just not included in the various packs or tracklists. I spent a hilarious amount of time doing trial and error, and behold...
"Escape" is tmnt4_msu1-63.pcm
Now to find "Attack". The track that plays during the Technodrome cutscene.

if you have a debugging emulator (i might recommend bsnes plus or mesen) you can set a write (W) breakpoint on $2004 to see what the MSU1 code is enumerating any individual song as. then you just need to convert hexadecimal to decimal (google works) and voila. located.

I’ve got the digital tracks for the recent Lame Genie release that includes every single song in the game like the Time Attack ones that are usually neglected in other sets.
If anyone wants to add them let me know and I’ll shoot you a link.

Lame Genie Guitar v3, Now With Voice Clips! (by JUD6MENT):
No judging my gameplay, I was playing both characters simultaneously at the same time.
