The fourth entry in the Mega Man franchise.  With Mega Man 2 being a strong sequel and Mega Man 3, although rushed, being a favorite for some it was inevitable a fourth game would be made.  This game would have more time to be created than the last one with some new features; a chargeable buster, two hidden items, and a very nice intro.  And again, the modding community came through with some pretty nice QOL's: Title Screen Restoration and Minor Graphics Fixes by LiquidMarble; Japanese Style Title Screen by Korxtendo; Underwater Slide Jumping by Puresabe; Boss Health Fill Speedup by Thirteen 1355; Faster Screen Scrolling by KCEXE; Charge Shot Sound Fade Out (say that three times fast) by MetHy; Roll-chan 4 by Zynk Oxhyde; Proto Man 4 by dieto20; and last but not least MSU-1 here on this site.

There are three characters that can be used to play the game. One is with Mega Man with all patches listed and the other two with Roll and Proto Man, respectively, using most of the patches, only excluding Title Screen Restoration and Minor Graphics Fixes and Japanese Style Title Screen, obviously.  All three downloads come with two patches, one with Charge Shot Sound Fade Out and one without it, based on people's preferences.  Also, the game does lag quite a bit due to compatibility with Project Nested but at this time there is no fix for it.  Although, going to the cpu overclock option in an emulator and setting it to the highest it'll go resolves pretty much the whole issue.  Not sure if that has any adverse effects in the long run.  So, without further ado.



NOTE: After patching change the extension of the patched file from ".nes" to ".smc".
and select "OK" when the Rename box pops up.
