The Legend of Zelda: Oracle of Secrets is a spiritual successor to the Oracle of Ages and Oracle of Seasons for the Nintendo GameBoy. It's a complete overhaul of a Link to the Past replacing all the dungeons and overworld as well as a brand new story. The game features several new items and mechanics with contributions from Conn, Euclid, SePH and more.

personally I love what you have done with this! and if you need help with sprites or drawn tiles, I would be willing to help out so it has a new feeling to all the gamers that try it!
I felt that the oracle games were the best of the zelda games and cant wait to see this finished.

(made a very small Magic drain when diving) and

(made a small forced stop after using the feather, so that Monsters can catch up with you - with the old version you could slide all the ways through them, which renders the feather like a cheap cheat...!)

This is a work in progress hack, I've mostly just done overworld and general development of the game so far. Stay tuned for more!
Okay so I've been working on dungeons lately and I've almost finished one up now. It feels really awesome to be editing this game again
I actually started with the 2nd dungeon Tail Palace which is an homage to Tail Cave from links awakening. Using the big chest key and key blocks has made for a lot of diversity. The dungeon is basically done already. I plan on having the first three dungeons complete before I release another open demo.
I do have a question for you guys though, what should I do with the map item in dungeons? I was interested in the idea of a collectable kind of like the tablets from parallel worlds since I don't really see the need for the maps. If anyone has any idea on how the tablets were done in that game they should let me know.
Also I'll be posting some screenshots soon once everything is in order!

Alright so I haven't updated in awhile mostly because of some stressful personal situations but I figured since I've gotten a lot done I should post a little bit!
In the last post I said I had started the Tail Palace dungeon, well not only have I finished it but I've also finished nearly two other dungeons. Oddly enough I went from the 2nd to the 3rd then finally the 1st. Here are some screenshots and brief descriptions of each. I'm not going to post too much about them yet.
1. Mushroom Grotto: Hidden in the deepest point of the toadstool woods this dungeon was me experimenting with the graphics a bit and wanting the main gimmick to be that almost all the rooms are full sized (no quadrants) and pretty simple puzzles.
2. Tail Palace: Inspired by tail cave from Link's Awakening using the new Roc's feather this dungeon was a very classic style zelda dungeon. The difficulty in this one slightly spikes compared to the last one but you can prepare for it in the overworld.
3. Kalyxo Castle: This is by far the largest dungeon I've created, having multiple castle floors as well as multiple floors to the dungeons underneath. The aesthetic is a long abandoned castle filled with the souls of old soldiers awaiting the return of their king. The puzzles in this one are a lot more frequent than the last two dungeons combined.
I'm not sure if I want to release a demo of these three dungeons yet, but if you guys want to see them in action I'm willing!

This looks like an awesome hack but if you're open to a little contructive criticism I'd suggest making a few adjustments to Link's palette. The yellow and especially the green are a bit too bright in the context of ALttP's graphics. Anyways, keep up the good work. Can't wait to play this when it's finished.

It's all looking really good. For sure, it gives the game a new look and feel to it, especially the changes to Link and all. Keep it up!
Wow this looks great, a demo would be appreciated for sure.

This will hopefully be coming very soon. I'm kind of bustin my own balls rn trying to get a demo with the first three dungeons available to play in it right now. It will *hopefully* be done soon and ready to play. It'll be a little rough but playable and open for criticism.
I don't have a lot to show but I figured images would be nice. This is a pretty important part in the game I'm making right now. Alongside the secret tunnels that connect to the other world, there's also an entire temple that can take you to their holy village.
Also I have a pretty good progression map made out so far of what dungeons there will be, and what you have to do to proceed in the game. I'm not sure if I wanna post it publically yet or not but since I haven't had much of any updates for this game lately anything is better than nothing I guess.
Nice. I can also change your demo into Exlorom (like with the Conker beta) to prevent any unwanted extraction of your data from the rom, since the standard Lorom is like an opened self-service. But only if this is your wish.
Also, this hack definitely is something to look forward to, since it is the first Alttp, with the look of the GB Zelda series.

I was actually thinking about this earlier today and I'd really prefer to have it locked up for the demo. Especially since it'll be 100% public unlike the conker beta.
Also here's a random image since I was bored and was messing with the hall of secrets
In the demo you will have the ability to access the boat, but it won't have any direct play in the game for the demo since it's the home for a later dungeon.
Also alongside link and his evil triforce stealing ways, I'm working on the entrance for the sixth dungeon in the desert of south-east kalyxo (this screenshot is all in my graphics editor, not in game yet)

I've been kind of all over the place working with Xaser and Conn about getting everything properly set up, so in my boredom I started working on the 4th dungeon.

How many dungeons will there be altogether in the complete version?
7 main dungeons and the final dungeon so 8 in all. There will be mini dungeons in the secret sea which will allow you to get items to proceed through the game.
