IMPORTANT SIDENOTE: "DKC2 MSU-1" and "DKC2 MSU-1 Deluxe" are two different and separate patches. It will not work right to use the original DKC2 MSU-1 Patch with the Deluxe PCM set. You need to match the right patch to the right PCM set.

Donkey Kong Country 2 :: Comments
Re: Donkey Kong Country 2
Want to see my latest track I am working on? I have 4 different artists that are Frankenstein together to make one new track. I frequently have my favorite parts cut in and out so I have the best parts playing of all 4 artists. You will want to make the video full screen.
Also, I released 2 new PCM sets. Castlevania 4 and Mario Rpg. You should check them out! I have been very busy lately.

I finished updating my Donkey Kong Country 2 PCM set with 10 new updated tracks.
April 4th 2023 Update - Ten new tracks and a few other minor volume fixes. The new tracks are:
Flight of the Zinger, Stickerbrush Symphony, Forest Interlude, Welcome to Crocodile Island, Steel Drum Rhumba (menu), Boss Bossanova, Bad Bird Rag, Run Rambi Run, Stronghold Showdown, and The Flying Krock.

I just updated the first post with a newer version of my DKC2 PCM Set. I changed how Lockjaw Saga and Disco Train is edited to sound much much better. I also changed the volume level of 8 other tracks. It is a very small update, I am not even going to change my preview video. I am also doing two different mirror links because of the trouble of my PCM sets being taken down recently.

by the way, I am about to release DKC2 Deluxe in a few minutes. This will give all 47 tracks in the game it's own individual music artist to upload and the overworld map now has 6 different themes. Cubear and I have been working on it for 3 weeks now and it is going to be awesome.

I have tried both the normal and the Deluxe MSUs and at the end of the first level, the 'end level' thing that you jump on isn't there, meaning I can't exit the level. This is in the Snes9X core of Retroarch. The music in that first level sure was great though! Does anyone know why this is? BTW I have played through DKC1 MSU on the same setup (Retroarch / Snes9x) just fine.

It almost sounds like you have a bad rom. Or maybe the header is not removed from your rom. Last guess is on very rare occasions one particular emulator wont play something right. In mario rpg, my wii emulator freezes if pcm-8 (invincibility star) is in.
Try a new emulator first just to see what happens. If you have the same issue on the new emulator, then it is a rom problem. Many people have streamed this live and i have beaten it 3 times myself so this isnt a normal issue, but we will figure it out
One last thing, if the problem is you have a rom header you need to remove header before patching. My tutorial shows how, though this is just a guess on my part and you might know all this already.

Thankyou, this was it.
I added to first post, but I gave it it's own section as it is not an official PCM set as it plays random different music, but maybe others will enjoy it too.
Awesome! Yea decided to make this pack for funnziez a month ago. Its suppose to combine my vision of music for dkc2 and put a meme twist on it. Hope you enjoy my very odd taste of music!JUD6MENT wrote: I added to first post, but I gave it it's own section as it is not an official PCM set as it plays random different music, but maybe others will enjoy it too.

I looked at your music pack and I believe a lot of tracks are much longer than they need to be making a very large download file. The songs do not have loop points and the volume levels are inconsistent. It is possible you may not mind as this PCM set is more silly than serious, however, if you want some help learning some of these skills to make good PCMs I made some tutorials that may be of help for you. If you have hopes to make more music packs for different games I think you may find this to be useful. It is just a suggestion though.
https://www.zeldix.net/t2687-creating-a-pcm-track-for-msu-1
I took a brief look into it, some of the tracks (mainly those without voice/singing) I indeed find really good choice.I added to first post, but I gave it it's own section as it is not an official PCM set as it plays random different music, but maybe others will enjoy it too.
I would suggest a youtube video showcase so people don't have to download the 2gb file, setup and so on for a "surprise package" they maybe don't like.
If more of such custom sets come up that do not recreate the original music we may consider a new section alike "merge patches", calling them "custom pcm sets" or alike.

I did find a video showing about 3 tracks, but showing off a few more would be nice.
Most of the "unique" pcm sets are in super Metroid and link to the past. This makes a lot of sense as having random music for randomizers is very popular (i even did a Zelda randomizer pcm set). Those are also two pages that have too many pcm. I think making a randomizer pcm forum here on zeldix would be the best solution. If we did that, i think there would be very little clutter of unique sets.
I actually wanted to finish a randomizer pcm set for super Metroid randomizer and Metroid x Link to Past randomizers that i have been working on. I was going to say up the randomizer pages when those are done so maybe i be will make that my next project (i am finishing up Mario RPG today or tomorrow first).
I talked with Seph lately since it is my tenth years anniversary

funny that I already wanted to retire back that time
Anyways, awesome people come (Jud6Ment, Relikk, Cubear) and go (SePH, Euclid, Pev, Kurrono, qwertymode and I desperately try...)
So this is how life goes we all grow older, so in regards to above text and Relikk from time to time asks me whether ban or not, I say you do not need me to advance the site. So if you want to ban a member do it, if you want to add a new section, do it You are full admin Jud6Ment and if you want to promote others to forward the site (I think I asked Relikk and Cubear already to admin but declined).
If you are unsure and need others opinions, we always have the mod/admin forum and/or discord.
I still am here but in background and try my best to help and do backups in any case. I hope we keep zeldix growing

Anyone know if this mod has individual-track SPC fallback? I want to do a PCM pack for this (another pure-piano set by Kara Comparetto), but I don't have anything to use for the ~70 'jingle' tracks (I think there's 14 'lost life' tracks alone).
If it doesn't have individual-track SPC fallback, out of the 3 posted PCM packs, which sounds closest to the original SPC? I need to know who to ask if I can steal their stuff, lol.

i am pretty sure it does, you can delete the pcm and give ita go to check. Or you could use "jammin sam miller" restored set as it is very close to the original and slightly elevated.edale wrote:Anyone know if this mod has individual-track SPC fallback? Also i am very glad you do Kara's full playthroughs as those are music i would normally want to convert but would struggle to find time as i do too many projects. Glad someone else got this one.
No SPC fallback. If you use just the ROM and the MSU file with no PCMs, you get dead silence in-game except for SFX.JUD6MENT wrote:i am pretty sure it does, you can delete the pcm and give ita go to check. One note about this set though... Kara did a lot of the tracks on piano and organ individually before deciding to do the full set for a mod... And she was in the middle of a move with her organ not set up when she recorded the rest of the tracks... so a bit under ½ the tracks are piano + organ, and the rest of the tracks are pure piano.
Oh, and Kara decided to record those jingles herself.
Very glad to hear. I strongly suggest if some how a pcm is missing to look at Jammin Sam Miller pcm as they are very close to original soundtrack but clearer quality. I am glad you are doing this for Kara and noname does Jammin Sam cpm as i do not have time to cover all these but they are very good

It is so frustrating indeed, i had trouble with my MET megaman x that i had his permission to do and even promoted i did it for one of the games.
MediaFire can be a decent download service. Archieve.org is the least likely to have your stuff taken down even though it is not my preference. I suggest trying both of them and we will do a mirror link so if one goes down we got a backup. Yeah, this is why with all my pcm sets i do 2-3 links of different services

Use this for now while the DMCA dispute is happening on the first one (I think it can take up to 10 days). If this one gets DMCAed too, I'll try another hoster.
*edit- Original download link restored, duplicate removed to save space in my account.
